This truncation is (I presume) happening at the Melco end, not the MinimServer end. This is the point I had raised in this post.

Have you reported this issue to Melco? What was their response?

Yes, I had an email conversation with Melco Japan. Apparently it was a planned change for v3.9 on the assumption that not all peripherals could support RIFF/WAV files over 2GB even though the RIFF spec supports files up to 4GB. They thought the majority of over 2GB files would be corrupt so they chose to truncate them. I argued my case and they said that they would review their decision for future firmware. They said they could check a different file property to establish the integrity of large files. Until then, they advised me to use flac as it has large file support.
