RE: Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
For now, I am responding to the playlists topic in your post.

Thanks for posting this playlist. What happens when you browse to the playlist and select it? Do you see all 612 songs or something else?

Also, do you see any messages in the MinimServer log about problems detected when reading this playlist as part of a rescan?

Yes, all 612 songs appear in the playlist...
But that's not the case with ALL playlists - some of them go into a recursive loop, never displaying the files, always making me re-select the same playlist over and over.... I finally give up.

I haven't checked the log myself (I'll explain in a PM).

RE: Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
Can you post one of the playlists that goes into a recursive loop?

I've resolved the playlist recursive issue....
However, HEOS is NOT working at all with MinimServer.
At best I can get one song to play, the second I want to fast forward, or change songs, it goes to hell - LOL.

Really need help resolving...

RE: Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
The symptoms you are describing could be caused by a network issue or by the device running MinimServer becoming overloaded.

What device are you using to run MinimServer and what device are you using to play music? How are these devices connected to your network?

Hi Simon,
A Synology NAS is running MinimServer.
The streaming device is a Marantz pre amp 8805a with HEOS built in.
All devices are hardwired through a Netgear Managed switch.
There are no device discovery issues and I can see all media and playlists perfectly.
No other DLNA devices exhibit any problems.

The short version of this is that I cannot get an entire playlist to play start to finish, or shuffle, or basically have continuous music playing.

The only server I’ve used without this problem has a directory entry at the top of each group of files that said “play all” and “shuffle all”….
Thoughts?

Which server is this? I would expect these functions to be provided by a UPnP control point, not a UPnP server.

Also, have you tried other UPnP servers as well as MinimServer and found the same problem?

I can't remember which one, however, I BELIEVE it was Asset UPNP.
I'm using a RoomieRemote which is 100% compatible with HEOS.
Via Roomie, I can see the playlists, songs, genre's, etc.
And as I said, RoomieRemote will play a single song, but not a series (gapless????).

RE: Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
Are you able to try using the HEOS app instead of RoomieRemote? Other MinimServer users have been able to make this work. You could also try other UPnP control points such as BubbleUPnP or mconnect.

Weirdest thing.
Seriously weird.
It just started working... it's working perfectly now.

Last problem:
Minimwatch isn't loading on my Mac M1 OS Ventura 13.4

I am curious to monitor bitrates, file types, etc....
