Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
Has anyone who uses the HEOS app seen a problem where the Genres index doesn't show any values? Or does anyone who uses the HEOS app see the Genres index working correctly? I am investigating a problem relating to this (see this post and subsequent discussion) and it would be helpful to have feedback from other HEOS users. Any information or pointers would be much appreciated.

Navigating the heos app I notice: Within the heos app wherever the word genre(s) is spelled in plural form, no genre information is present in the sub folder. But in the other hand, wherever genre is singular, all genre info is there. For example, at the heos main menu where genres is spelled in plural form, no genre information is present in the sub folder. But using folder view where the word genre is spelled in singular form, all genres information are present. Is there anything I can change within minim command line to solve this issue?

RE: Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
The Genre index within folder view is produced by MinimServer. The Genres index is produced by the HEOS app and MinimServer has no control over what that index contains. Can you contact HEOS and ask them for advice about this?

RE: Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
Sadly this problem still remains.
Aggravating that the MinimServer ist the best Media Server for HEOS.
Searching from HEOS on the MinimServer works fast and perfect.
I described the Genre-Problems to Denon/HEOS-Support but I'm still waiting for an answer.

Are you really sure, that the problem is a HEOS-problem?
HEOS shows with "Windows Media Server" the same menue mask as with MinimServer.
But the Genres work with "Windows Media Server".

I contacted Denon/HEOS-Service months ago.
They told me, that it takes time to get an answer from the development department.
Every 21 days I have to renew my question, because they put the status to "solved" when there is no communication.
But I don't give up and tell them again and again, that I patiently wait for the development department.

Simon, did you answer HEOS yourself?
Or do you work on a solution meanwhile?

RE: Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
There is an update on this in another thread (see this post). The Genre index issue with the HEOS app is caused by a MinimServer limitation. Removing this limitation is a moderate amount of work and I will look into this when I have an opportunity.

RE: Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
All,
I cannot get HEOS working at all.
I can browse to the Server and get the correct initial directory.
However, when I, for example, navigate to a playlist, I can see songs in some, and others end up in a recursive loop where I continuously have to select the same Playlist, but no songs ever appear.
It doesn't seem there's any logic to which playlists appear correctly and which don't.

Further, I am struggling to get media playing consistently altogether.
If I do get a list of songs in a directory or playlists, it's 50/50 whether it will start playing, and it NEVER continues to the next song automatically.
If a song is currently playing, and I select another song - well that freezes everything and I cannot get anything after that, short of rebooting the HEOS app, etc.

Any help appreciate.

RE: Problem with HEOS app and MinimServer
Please post one of the playlists that isn't working for you. Please post this as a file attachment to a post here (not copied inline). See this post for details of how to do this.

Simon,
I have attached a playlist, here.
But please note that the song advancing issue occurs outside of playlists, as well. For example, if I decide to play an album of a specific artist, I select the first song and it stops after the song, versus advancing to the next song.

Thanks!!!
