For network streams, you can use MinimStreamer to transcode the stream to MP3 with a bitrate of 24 kbps or higher. Local files can only be transcoded to L16 or WAV, which would increase the bitrate.

Thanks, I wasn't sure what the source codec name would be called in minimstreamer, to do the mapping. It is a network stream.
Thanks

The mp3 transcoding input type should work for MPEG-1, MPEG-2 and MPEG-2.5 files and streams (Layers I, II and III). Please let me know if you have any problems with this.

Thanks, I thought that I tried that, but I'll try later, when I have a few moments

If it isn't working when you try again, please post the URL of the network stream you are using so that I can investigate.

RE: MPEG-1 and MPEG-2 Layer II Audio Encoding
I found replacement URLs for all streams but one. Even if I turn off transcoding, it doesn't work. It sends the media player the playlist and then when it tries to get a ts file, it 404-s it back. I'll take a look a bit more, before posting the URL.
Thanks
