I've only had a quick trawl through looking at a few examples, but to me it's looking like all of the yyyyy-mm have the same problem.

Incidentally, at the top level menu I can see "1186 Albums", and at the bottom of the "Ripped" menu there's "[Unknown]". In "[Unknown]" there's a menu item "1177 Albums". At a rough guess, I'd say that around 60% of my total albums have this RIP_DATE tag in them, so the the 1177 can't be correct. I've added the tag programatically using metaflac based on the earliest mod date of the album tracks so I'm fairly sure that the value (when present) is present in all tracks for an album and with the same value.

I'm cataloguing and adding the RIP_DATE tag and partway through the process hence the lowish percentage of album tracks with the tag.

If there's useful diagnostics I can get with a debugger in an android app then LMK...

The high figure for Ripped > [Unknown] is consistent with the first track of almost all albums not being identified as having a RIP_DATE tag. Just one track in the album without this tag will cause the album to be listed under [unknown].

I think something has happened in your automated tagging that doesn't show up in your tagging program but is causing an issue with MinimServer. Have you checked the MinimServer log for warning messages?

If there aren't any log messages that seem to be relevant, please upload one of the "missing" files to my FTP server and I will look at how it is tagged. I will send you a PM with the server details.

I've restarted with the startupScan property = true (which was the way it was set from install IIRC). I can see a few reports that look like this:

Cor. Ftp. Just for the hell of it I actually connected directly through the FTP commandline program. It must be 20 years since I last ftp'd anything directly from the commandline lots of memories some of them even good...
"01 - Steady, As She Goes.flac" has been uploaded.

The file looks good. Please try setting startupScan to full and then doing a Rescan.

From a quick tour of menus that seems to have fixed the problem. The counts balance up a bit better, so [Unknown] is down to 759 Albums which is probably what I'd expect ATM.

I'll let you know if I find anything unexpected & thanks for being so quick to respond.

OK, this means you are using a tagging program that is changing tag values without updating the modification date of the file. Setting startupScan to full makes MinimServer read all files on every rescan (including files that appear to be unmodified) instead of using cached information.

Your tagging program should have a configurable option to change the modification date whenever a file is updated and it is highly recommended that you configure this option to prevent similar problems in future. Leaving startupScan set to full isn't recommended because of the rescan performance penalty that this causes.
