SONOS compatibility with MinimServer
I'm thinking about getting a system like SONOS, and from what I can tell, SONOS has by far the best user interface. (My current system is an Olive ONE and the horrible user interface issues are the reason for making a change.)

However, some old discussion threads in this forum suggested that SONOS didn't work directly with MinimServer, apparently because of problems with the SONOS implementation. Instead, it was necessary to use another app like BubbleUPNP to connect Minimserver to SONOS. This sounds like a complication my family wouldn't appreciate.

Has this situation changed in the years since the old threads? Can SONOS now directly connect to MinimServer running on my synology NAS and work in a reasonable way (e.g. handling multiple genre tags and searching the whole NAS)?

RE: SONOS compatibility with MinimServer
As far as I know, there has not been any change to this. It appears that SONOS prefers to continue as a closed system instead of supporting UPnP standards for interoperability with non-SONOS components.
