RE: Melco new firmware
As I understand it, the problem with 3.70 and 3.71B is related to automatic download of audio files and not to audio playback.

Hi Simon, very interesting, thanks. Happy Thanksgiving to you and the entire MinimServer community!

RE: Melco new firmware
Seems to be no major problem, much as Simon described.
Melco web site now says:

N1 firmware Ver. 3.72 is available on this page. Customers who is using HIGHRESAUDIO.COM with 3.70 must update the machine to 3.72. Online update from the machine itself will be prepared on 27th November.
As 3.72 is same as 3.70 except downloader, for customer who doesn't use downloader, it is not mandatory to update.

RE: Melco new firmware
Has anyone here installed 3.73b? I have and the display now sticks on the first track title played. If I skip a track the display changes but only for the first track played, subsequent tracks do not update the display. This happens both for my own media in the Melco and also Tidal and Qobuz streaming.

RE: Melco new firmware
I am on 3.72 and my display sticks on the first track, as well.

RE: Melco new firmware
Which control point are you using? Also, do you have the Melco USB-DAC renderer configured as mode 0, mode 1 or hybrid? I use mode 1 and I haven't had any problems.

Firstly, I didn't have this problem with 3.72 and Kazoo. I'm using BubbleUPnP with mode set to hybrid as Kazoo no longer works. Also MinimWatch can no longer see MinimServer. When I check MinimServer status through port 9790 it shows as running.

RE: Melco new firmware
It sounds like you have a network multicast discovery problem. See this section for some suggestions for how to solve this.

BubbleUPnP supports mode 1. Have you tried this?

I've changed mode to 1. I've also checked router (Zyxel VMG8924-B10A) settings. Enhance Multicast forwarding was off in Broadband settings, so I've tried turning this on. I've also disabled IGMP snooping. So far it's not made any difference.

Note that BubbleUPnP has always taken 6 to 9 minutes before Melco appears in Renderer listing whereas in Kazoo it would appear almost instantly. Now it doesn't see Melco at all.

PS now BubbleUPnP doesn't see Melco at all.
