Showing Filename not Title in Bubble

I've just come to Minim and am pretty impressed except for the unnecessarily complex login/registration system and instructions in computer rather than English or American. It must be very hard for those who don't speak either of those languages.

Rant over, could you help with two small points please?

1 I use Bubble and folders as my organization system. But when tracks show, they show using their Title rather than their Filename. Is there a way of setting Minim to show Filename rather than Title please?
2 Is there a way of getting rid of the albums and items views at root level which seems low value info

If you set Title:nil in the aliasTags property, MinimServer will ignore all Title tags and show filenames instead.

It isn't possible to remove the albums and items entries from the top-level menu.

The unnecessarily complex login/registration system is necessary to prevent registrations by spambots and spam posts to the forum.

There are step-by-step instructions on the Installing pages that should enable a new user to get MinimServer up and running. The User guide provides detailed descriptions of all the features of MinimServer and this forum is available to help anyone who has a question or problem.

Returning briefly to my little rant, after making the change I looked at the User Manual sections on Alias tags and, as an ordinary user who just wants to listen to music, they could have been written in Finnish for all I was able to gain from them: sorry!

It seems to me that a more user friendly, less computer jargoned User Manual could save you hours of time answering questions from people like me for the umpteenth time and would be time very well spent. I'd offer to have a go myself but my knowledge is so scant that I'd leave massive gaps or would get it round my ears.

Taking this on, I believe that changing the settings under System Stream Options can improve/change SQ, but I would never know from the current documentation. Again, an explanation of what we could do and how would make Minim even better

I understand the issue but the solution isn't as simple as you are suggesting. The aliasTags feature is very powerful and it can be used for many different things. Using it to make titles show as filenames is a very small part of what it can do. If I were to try to list every possible use that I can think of for this feature, the 'Tag aliasing' section would be 4 or 5 times as long as it is now and I would inevitably miss something.

Having said this, I agree that the wording of this section could be friendlier and I will try to make some improvements.

One final thought. If you were to set out what might potentially available under each of the headings and then pass that onto a group of "ordinary users" (if there is such a thing) to amend/redraft into more user friendly/ less expert language, would we not get the best of all worlds?
You're amazing expertise as designer and your ability to see and understand new potential, plus a great saving of your time for more valuable things on your side, and users ability to put guidance in a simple form for those ranging in ability from me to the expert and cut out hundreds of repetitive questions? Allocate tasks among a number of willing people and the job then becomes manageable for everyone.

This sounds like writing a book by committee. I have done this once in my life and I discovered that the effort required is approximately proportional to the number of people involved in doing the writing, i.e., more people involved means that more work is needed, not less work. Also, this can only succeed if there is a leader of the group (lead author) who can put together everyone's ideas and contributions into a coherent whole with a consistent style. Being the lead author is a demanding, time-consuming and difficult job. (I was not the lead author.)

There is a forum section named Digital Audio which currently has two purposes: 1) general discussion not specifically about MinimServer and 2) tutorials. Any user is welcome to post a tutorial with "how to" guidance about any relevant topic. If you look at this forum section, you will see that very few users have contributed tutorials there.
