32 bit floating point wav files
Audacity creates 32 bit floating point wav files because this seems to be the format it uses internally. It seems that Minimserver doesn't recognise these as legitimate PCM files and rejects them on scanning.
For example from debug log:- Quote:18:08:06.147 main: WaveFileReader: ignoring non-PCM file AamusicHQ/Van Morrison/Concert2016/16-Brown Eyed Girl.wav (length 399772812) Is that unfixable or should I be trying to update ffmpeg on my server? (SLAX Linux). Thanks. |

RE: 32 bit floating point wav files
Updating ffmpeg won't make any difference to whether MinimServer can handle these files.
It looks like Audacity can export files in PCM WAV format (see this page). This should be a reasonable solution. I would be surprised if there are many other UPnP servers and UPnP renderers that can play 32-bit floating-point WAV files. I would be interested in any information you may have about this. |

RE: 32 bit floating point wav files
Here is the information from such a file reported from a program called MediaInfo:-
Quote:GeneralOn a different page it does also report the word format as floating point. Screen capture from wavewizard also attached. |

RE: 32 bit floating point wav files
This information is interesting but it doesn't change the fact that this is not a standard PCM format for most UPnP renderers and servers (as far as I am aware).
