DS213+ on DSM6.0 won't accept MinimServer 0.8.4

Hi - apologies if this is covered on an earlier thread: if so, please point me in the right direction.

I have a Synology DS213+ running DSM 6.0 Update 3. Based on the model listing on the MinimServer website, the DS213+ runs a PowerPC-based processor.

So, I followed the steps in the MinimServer tutorial to install and run Java 8 using the k-8u6-fcs-b23-linux-ppc-e500v2-12_jun_2014.tar.gz file, which appears to have been successful.

I then downloaded the MinimServer-0.8.4-PPC.SPK file and tried to use it to install MinimServer using the Manual Install feature of the Package Centre. However, I get an error message: "This package is not support on the platform of DiskStation."

Where have I gone wrong? Any assistance would be appreciated!

This problem is under investigation (see this post and later discussion on the thread). There seems to be a problem with how DSM 6.0 on PowerPC reads the architecture list in the MinimServer package. I will post back here when there is a solution.

The faulty package has been replaced with a corrected version. Please download the package again and it should work.

Hi Simon, I am having the same problem with a Synology 213J. I have upgraded to DSM 6.0 and Java 8 but when I try to install the armv5 package it tells me it is not supported. Can you help? many thanks

It's ok problem solved doh! after trawling through Google discovered that the DS213J has the armv7 not armv5. Sorry Simon.
