Shows up where? I don't quite understand what you mean by this.

Which DSM version are you running?

Which NAS model is it?

Which MinimServer version (not update) are you running? For example, it is 0.8.3, 0.8.3.1 or 0.8.3.4?

RE: Fatal Error after updating to 0.8.3 update 79
DSM 5.2
NAS Synology DS 716+
I was using 8.3 have now uninstalled this on my NAS.

I noticed that within the DSM software they do not list MiniMserver as avalible software that you can install using there "package center". I'm not sure why. I have an option to install manually onto my NAS, do you recommend I do that?

I recommend that you carefully follow the installation instructions for DSM 5.2 and your NAS on this page (manual download and installation).

I am in discussion with Synology about getting MinimServer back into the Package Center. They are claiming that it fails their testing on DSM 6.0 but they won't give me any details of what the problem is.

For DSM 5.2, you need the x86 download.

RE: Fatal Error after updating to 0.8.3 update 79
Ok I installed 0.8.3.4X86spk, I have java installed 7.0.51 through Java manager.
I have minimwatch software installed (It lights up yellow in tool bar in the lower right corner of windows 8.1 64 bit.
Package center says I have minimserver intalled-running. I have the correct content path. Rebooted computer and nas.

Minimserver does not show up as a Upnp server. Odd it showed up yesterday but not today.

I keep trying to restart/refresh through minimwatch and nothing happens..

Any ideas why?

It's working now! I have no idea why.

Does minimserver take a looong time to rescan files? Mine got bogged down after I made a bunch of tagging art changes. Seems to back to life now. Cool

The yellow icon colour means it's rescanning. This can take a long time depending on the size of your library and the speed of the machine that is doing the rescanning. To view the rescan progress in real time, you can open the log window (select 'Show log' from the MinimWatch minim icon) and set the logging level to Verbose.

The rescan time will be even slower than usual the first time after MinimServer has been installed because MinimServer needs to do a full scan of all files to build its cache.
