Feature Request: Crossfade
Many tracks in my playlists are songs from gapless mix albums that have abrupt
starting and ending musical elements and levels that make regular playback very jarring.

Is there any way to implement a crossfade feature in minimserver that would
fade out the current streaming track and fade in the next track on the playlist?
Not sure if this is feasible from server side.

Or alternatively if crossfade is not possible from server side,
is it possible to create a feature that would fade in
and out each track as it streams individually? With a setting for number of
seconds for the fade in/out would be ideal.

I've been trying to find a solution for crossfade feature on the player side but have
not been getting an answer with Linn development on the issue.

Sonos player has an excellent crossfade feature that is exactly what I'm looking for
but is not audiophile quality sound.

I'm an avid fan and supporter of minimserver, it's definitely the best media server!

RE: Feature Request: Crossfade
Thanks for this suggestion.

MinimServer doesn't do any audio processing of this kind. I don't think it would make sense to try to expand its scope in this direction because I think this is something that should be done on the player side. (This is presumably what Sonos is doing.)
