Minimstreamer installed, not found on NAS
Hello,
Previously I was able to install Minimstreamer on my DS415play, but it disappeared. I tried again to install via Minimwatch (icon is green, menu intact) and MinimStreamer 0.5.21 is listed under Installed Packages. However, Minimstreamer does not appear on the NAS. When it did work, I had the choice between "Minimstreamer" and "Music Server." Now my only choice is "Music Server." How can I diagnose this problem? Thank you. |

RE: Minimstreamer installed, not found on NAS
I am not sure why you changed the logging level to Trace. I was hoping to see the startup log output with the logging level set to the default value of Info. It will be hard to get back to this state now, so I would like to try a different approach to finding out what is wrong.
As MinimServer is producing trace log output, it must be running OK on the NAS. What exactly is the problem with not being able to see MinimServer on the NAS? If you open the Package Center, is there an entry for MinimServer in the list of installed packages? |

It will be hard to get back to this state now, so I would like to try a different approach to finding out what is wrong. Yes, MinimServer is listed among the installed packages and says that it is running. My observation previously was that when I opened Audio Station and Selected Media Server, I could select MinimServer, and to play a file, I could choose between Minimstreamer and MusicServer. I chose Minimstreamer, and MinimServer indicated that the file was being played by MinimServer [Minimstreamer]. A few days later, when I went to play a file and chose Minimserver, but then the display for streaming had changed to MinimServer [MusicServer], and I was not given a choice for a streaming vehicle. Thus I assumed that Minimstreamer was not running. In reinstalled Minimwatch to see if I could get Show log back to its original setting. I don't think that worked. I did a rescan and found a few "errors" in my music files. Here are the contents of Show Log after reinstallation and rescan: 20:42:06.331 Thread-16: Monitor response: SaveProperty 20:42:06.331 Thread-16: ErrorMsg= 20:42:13.191 Thread-9: Monitor action: SaveProperty 20:42:13.191 Thread-9: version=1, adapter=192.168.86.185, uriPrefix=http://192.168.86.185:9791/7fe93bb2-bfa6-48ae-acd8-9d94c5bd403d/Upnp/resource/, clientEndpoint=192.168.86.104:2147 20:42:13.191 Thread-9: ComponentName= PropertyName=logLevel PropertyValue=trace 20:42:13.192 Thread-9: saveProperty: compName=null propName=logLevel propValue=trace 20:42:13.218 Thread-9: Monitor response: SaveProperty 20:42:13.218 Thread-9: ErrorMsg= 20:43:13.563 Thread-18: Log action: GetLogDataLength 20:43:13.563 Thread-18: version=1, adapter=192.168.86.185, uriPrefix=http://192.168.86.185:9791/7fe93bb2-bfa6-48ae-acd8-9d94c5bd403d/Upnp/resource/, clientEndpoint=192.168.86.104:2158 20:43:13.563 Thread-18: Log response: GetLogDataLength 20:43:13.563 Thread-18: DataLength=6151 20:43:13.572 Thread-9: Monitor action: GetProperty 20:43:13.572 Thread-9: version=1, adapter=192.168.86.185, uriPrefix=http://192.168.86.185:9791/7fe93bb2-bfa6-48ae-acd8-9d94c5bd403d/Upnp/resource/, clientEndpoint=192.168.86.104:2159 20:43:13.572 Thread-9: ComponentName= PropertyName=logLevel 20:43:13.573 Thread-9: Monitor response: GetProperty 20:43:13.573 Thread-9: PropertyValue=trace 20:43:13.604 Thread-16: Log action: GetLogStart 20:43:13.604 Thread-16: version=1, adapter=192.168.86.185, uriPrefix=http://192.168.86.185:9791/7fe93bb2-bfa6-48ae-acd8-9d94c5bd403d/Upnp/resource/, clientEndpoint=192.168.86.104:2160 20:43:13.604 Thread-16: Log response: GetLogStart 20:43:13.604 Thread-16: StartPosition=5333 20:43:13.622 Thread-9: Monitor action: GetProperty 20:43:13.622 Thread-9: version=1, adapter=192.168.86.185, uriPrefix=http://192.168.86.185:9791/7fe93bb2-bfa6-48ae-acd8-9d94c5bd403d/Upnp/resource/, clientEndpoint=192.168.86.104:2162 20:43:13.622 Thread-9: ComponentName=minimserver PropertyName=lastNewVersionCheck 20:43:13.623 Thread-9: Monitor response: GetProperty 20:43:13.623 Thread-9: PropertyValue=1453350699467 20:43:13.639 Thread-16: Log action: GetLogStart 20:43:13.639 Thread-16: version=1, adapter=192.168.86.185, uriPrefix=http://192.168.86.185:9791/7fe93bb2-bfa6-48ae-acd8-9d94c5bd403d/Upnp/resource/, clientEndpoint=192.168.86.104:2164 20:43:13.640 Thread-16: Log response: GetLogStart 20:43:13.640 Thread-16: StartPosition=5333 20:43:13.650 Thread-18: Log action: GetLogStart 20:43:13.650 Thread-18: version=1, adapter=192.168.86.185, uriPrefix=http://192.168.86.185:9791/7fe93bb2-bfa6-48ae-acd8-9d94c5bd403d/Upnp/resource/, clientEndpoint=192.168.86.104:2166 20:43:13.650 Thread-18: Log response: GetLogStart 20:43:13.650 Thread-18: StartPosition=5333 20:44:01.932 Thread-16: Monitor action: SaveProperty 20:44:01.932 Thread-16: version=1, adapter=192.168.86.185, uriPrefix=http://192.168.86.185:9791/7fe93bb2-bfa6-48ae-acd8-9d94c5bd403d/Upnp/resource/, clientEndpoint=192.168.86.104:2175 20:44:01.932 Thread-16: ComponentName= PropertyName=logLevel PropertyValue=verbose 20:44:01.932 Thread-16: saveProperty: compName=null propName=logLevel propValue=verbose stopping MinimServer[MusicServer] MinimServer[MusicServer] is stopped Language setting is 'def' Current time is Fri Jan 22 02:16:24 GMT 2016 in time zone GMT starting MinimServer[MusicServer] Warning: conflicting ALBUMARTIST values ignored for album Music of Our Time, Vol 5 (Orchestra 2001 - River Song) (Composers Recording, DDD, 2002) on disc 1 first conflicting value: Reise, J - Concerto for Cello\n13 Instruments (2000) I - Agitato first conflicting item: Reise, Jay - Ulrich Boeckheler (cello) second conflicting value: Reise, J - Concerto for Cello\n13 Instruments (2000) II - Rhapsody, Lyrical and expressive second conflicting item: Reise, Jay - Ulrich Boeckheler (cello) Warning: conflicting ALBUMARTIST values ignored for album Music of Our Time, Vol 5 (Orchestra 2001 - River Song) (Composers Recording, DDD, 2002) on disc 1 first conflicting value: Rochberg, G - Fantasies for Voice\nPiano (1971) I - The toadstools in a fairy ring first conflicting item: Rochberg, George - Martin (soprano) - Freeman (piano) second conflicting value: Rochberg, G - Fantasies for Voice\nPiano (1971) II - There were frog prints in the rime second conflicting item: Rochberg, George - Martin (soprano) - Freeman (piano) Warning: conflicting ALBUMARTIST values ignored for album Music of Our Time, Vol 5 (Orchestra 2001 - River Song) (Composers Recording, DDD, 2002) on disc 1 first conflicting value: Running, A - Concertino for English Horn\nString Orchestra (1983) I - Preludio first conflicting item: Running, Arne - Dorothy Freeman (english horn) second conflicting value: Running, A - Concertino for English Horn\nString Orchestra (1983) II - Chorale second conflicting item: Running, Arne - Dorothy Freeman (english horn) MinimServer[MusicServer] is running |

The default name that MinimServer displays to UPnP control points is MinimServer[xxxx] where xxxx is the hostname of the machine where MinimServer is running. From what you say, it seems you have changed the hostname of your Synology NAS from MinimStreamer to MusicServer and this is why Audio Station is now displaying a different name for MinimServer. If you want to change this default display name to something else, you can open the Properties window by selecting Properties from the minim icon, then change the displayName property to whatever name you prefer. After you have made this change, the hostname of your NAS will no longer affect the name that MinimServer displays in Audio Station. To confirm that MinimStreamer is installed and running, you can select About from the minim icon. Quote:In reinstalled Minimwatch to see if I could get Show log back to its original setting. Here are the contents of Show Log after reinstallation and rescan: The logging level for MinimServer is part of your MinimServer configuration and reinstalling MinimWatch or MinimServer won't change it. From the latest output, it appears you have now set the logging level to Verbose, which is OK. |
