Missing Items & Albums

Hi All:

I have looked through the various posts about missing and untagged items/albums, and have not found this specific issue. Apologies if I missed it.

I am running the latest versions of MinimServer, Streamer & Watch. My library is on a Sinology 1812 NAS, connected to my iMac via Gigabit Ethernet. No wifi except for iPhone control, which is via mConnect. ]Confirmed same behavior on Linn Kinsky.] I have confirmed all my files have been correctly copied and are viewable on the NAS.

I have 7 albums in my U2 folder, including the single and 2-disc versions of War. All these albums are tagged consistently. For reasons I cannot determine, MS would always only display tracks 4, 5, & 7 of this album. After ripping the 2-disc set, I deleted the single-disc album as a test. Now, when I browse the album list, it still shows the single-disc album, with its now-deleted 3 tracks only [instead of the ten that there should be]. Additionally, MS is not serving the new 2-disc deluxe version of the album. I have checked the Untagged folder, and there are no U2 tracks there. I have checked each track, and all tags are present. I am stumped.

This log shows that the War album contains 3 tracks named "Modified or deleted item". This means your library has changed since the last rescan and another rescan is required. You can do a rescan by selecting Rescan from the minim icon in MinimWatch.

If the rescan still doesn't show everything you are expecting, set the logging level to Info (not Trace), clear the log and do another rescan. After this rescan has completed, look at the log to see if there are any error or warning messages.

If you have rescanned and the deleted item still shows, check your Synology to see if you have a "deleted items" folder. Synology creates one by default within the Music folder and simply archives anything deleted in this folder. Minimserver will still find anything that's been deleted and moved here. If that's the case, you can disable this feature in settings and delete the folder.

If you have rescanned and the deleted item still shows, check your Synology to see if you have a "deleted items" folder. Simon and Anton, thanks much for the replies. The "Modified or deleted' items still showing was the key here. i had seen this before of course, and a routine refresh or rescan always seemed to get rid of them. But this time, that wasn't happening. When i tried a rescan again, i noticed that my minimWatch icon in my menu bar was not changing colors. That indicated to me that for whatever reason, Watch had stopped communicating with the server. I exited Watch, restarted it, rescanned, and voila! All good now. Simplest of solutions. Regrets for not figuring this out before posting.
