multiple nic NAS server
Hello Simon,
my Cambridge Audio streamer has a problem with jumbo frames enabled on a NIC. That is why I configured one NIC with and one without jumbo frames. This worked fine as minimserver can be accessed on both NIC's but now I see that minimserver properties gives the wrong NIC (192.168.1.44 with jumbo frames). My streamer cannot 'see' minimserver. Is there a way to set the preferred NIC (192.168.1.45 normal packet size)? Any idea why it cannot be accessed on both NIC's? thanks, Stefan |

RE: multiple nic NAS server
** added comment: on some servers like mediamonkey, you can set a specific LAN adapter. This is why I presume it must be possible to set a preferred adapter for minimserver to run on **

RE: multiple nic NAS server
You can set a preferred subnet but you can't set a preferred NIC if both NICs are on the same subnet (192.168.1.x in your case). This is a limitation of the ohNet UPnP stack that MinimServer is using.

RE: multiple nic NAS server
Hello Simon,
as I said, it worked fine before so I decided a few minutes ago to restart the NAS and presto... MinimServer is discovered. Problem solved. Thanks again for your reply and the Minim productline. cheers, Stefan |
