New BBC Radio Streams
The streams listed in BBC Radio.m3u.sample no longer work here in New Zealand. Radio 4 has been replaced by:
http://as-hls-ww-live.bbcfmt.vo.llnwd.ne..._length=24 If I use minimserver to serve this url directly it can be read and played both by VLC and my Pure One Flow radio, my Sangean WFR 28 can't deal with the protocol, however, so some transcoding is needed. Can minimserver do this? If I the stream through the server either without any value for stream.transcode or with *.mp3 (stream.converter = ffmpeg, nothing set for stream.options) the station shows on VLC and the Radios but none of them can play it, though the play a regular mp3 stream sent the same way. My m3u file is: #EXTM3U #EXT-X-VERSION:2 #EXT-X-STREAM-INF:PROGRAM-ID=1,BANDWIDTH=101760,CODECS="mp4a.40.5" #EXTINF:-1,[R4] BBC Radio 4 FM http://as-hls-ww-live.bbcfmt.vo.llnwd.ne..._length=24 #EXTINF:-1, [Absolute] Absolute Radio http://icecast.timlradio.co.uk:80/a8128.mp3 Any help would be greatly appreciated! Radio 4 has been replaced by: The stream URL you are using in your m3u file isn't correct. You should change your m3u file to the following: #EXTM3U #EXTINF:-1,[R4] BBC Radio 4 FM http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_fourfm.m3u8 #EXTINF:-1, [Absolute] Absolute Radio http://icecast.timlradio.co.uk:80/a8128.mp3 |

RE: New BBC Radio Streams
Dear Simon,
Thanks but the url http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/man...ourfm.m3u8 Doesn't work at all either fed directly to VLC or through minimserver. I think that I have already tried it. The only url which does seem to work, though not when fed through minimserver is http://as-hls-ww-live.bbcfmt.vo.llnwd.ne..._length=24 VLC's brief error message is Your input can't be opened VLC is unable to open the MRL '#EXTINF:-1,[R4] BBC Radio 4 FM http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/man...rfm.m3u8'. You should be using "Open network stream" with the URL: http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/nonuk/sbr_low/ak/bbc_radio_fourfm.m3u8 Which version of VLC are you using? |

RE: New BBC Radio Streams
Dear Simon,
Thanks! It's working now. I did enter the url as network stream but obviously I didn't wait long enough. I still get the error message but if I leave VLC alone the stream eventually opens and plays and so does the UPnP feed from minimserver though. In both cases VLC flags a problem - with its warning icon. I'm using VLC 2.2.1 on a Mac. Best, Chris (25-08-2015 09:44)simoncn Wrote:(25-08-2015 08:44)cmar057 Wrote: VLC's brief error message is |

The stream started playing after about 1 second with no error messages. |
