Home container contents
Hi,
I only have the need to use folder view for my music library and would like to tidy up my interface.
Therefore is it possible to remove albums, items, artists etc.

Cheers scott

To a significant extent but not completely.

I'm assuming that you have the green minim icon in your tray (because you are running MinimServer on the desktop you are currently accessing, or accessing MinimServer on another machine via MinimWatch). Right-click the icon to open the Properties dialog, and, on the Server tab, clear the indexTags entry. Then restart MinimServer.

This should give you a Home container with only the <n> albums, <n> items and folder view entries.

I am always intrigued when people say that they only need to use folder view. That was pretty much my opinion when I first took an interest in streaming music. I soon discovered that, for a reasonable amount of tagging effort, MinimServer is a far more capable program when you use its indexes rather than folder view.

You need to set indexTags to the special value 'none'. If you clear it, MinimServer will revert to the default setting.

Thanks for the correction, Simon. I should have remembered that ...

You need to add Composer to the itemTags property.

RE: Home container contents
Hi simoncn,
Thank you for the advise.I got a couple more errors so I had to add orchestra and conductor aswell as composer to item tags.
I now have a reduced home container.
Thanks again,regards scott.
