How do I upsample?
My setup comprises Windows Server 2012 R2/MinimServer/JPLAYStreamer (JPLAY6). I am using BubbleUPnP control point app on a Tesco Hudl2.

My digital music collection comprises 16/44, 24/44, 24/48, 24/96, 24/176 and 24/192 PCM files. I also have some DSD files that are converted on the fly by ffmpeg.

There has been some discussion regarding upsampling on the JPLAY Forum:

http://jplay.eu/forum/index.php?/topic/1...ng-ffmpeg/

Can someone please tell me how to set my software to upsample as I would like to listen to check if it makes a difference in my system. I want to upsample on the fly as I would not have the storage space or the time to convert prior to playback.

Thanks in antiicpation of your answers!

RE: How do I upsample?
See this part of the MinimStreamer user guide

http://minimstreamer.com/userguide.html

In MinimServer lingo its called transcoding.

At the start of the page it tells you how to install MinimStreamer if you haven't already done so.

RE: How do I upsample?
Thanks Peter. I have managed to set upsampling and it is working ... or should I say I think it's working as the HiRes light is coming on on my Naim DAC. My Naim DAC can run up to 32/192 with S/PDIF. I am currently running upsampling at 24/176 based on the general held theory that one should upsample in multiples of 44.1. Should I leave the output set at 176? I only have a few 24/192 HiRes files. Should I try 32-Bit or leave it at 24?

There's theory and there is listening.

I'd give the options a go and see which you prefer. Its likely to be equipment specific.
