Hi

I have just bought the EDS14 to run MinimServer. This has the ARV7 processor

I am unable to see Java manager on the package centre. I have set the trust level to any publisher but still am unable to get java manager.

How can I install Java on this NAS. My only reason for buying this NAS was to be able to run Minim and Java so this is essential for me.

I'm not sure whether this is possible. This model isn't mentioned in the list of Applied Models for either Java Manager or MinimServer (see this page). You would need to contact Synology Technical Support for clarification.

I saw this model was listed on the MinimServer site confirming it has the ARM7 processor and showed how to install Java so looking at the MinimServer page I bought the NAS.
As this does have the ARM7 processor I am sure I should be able to run Java on it.

Is is possible for me to manually upload the Java manager program?
I guess someone with another Synology NAS could download and give me the Java manager package and I can install on my NAS

You can download the latest version of Java Manager from this page. For the EDS14, you need the armada370 version.

If this doesn't work, you might be able to install the Java package from this package repository. See this post for tutorial instructions.

If you are able to install Java, you should able to do a manual install of the MinimServer download for Synology ARMv7.

Thank you very much..

I have been able to install Java using the link above and have also installed Minimserver successfully.
As I was short of time I was not able to test to see MinimServer but it shows up as working with no issues.

Which of the links above did you use? Was it Synology Java Manager or the pcloadletter package?

I used

to download the java manager and manually load it.
