I presume they have a different mechanism on their servers (not using UPnP) for associating a stream URL with an icon.

I was hoping you'd know and magically implement it... I'm just being greedy!

As I said in my first post, I can't tel you how grateful I am for your efforts and the lack of artwork for me isn't the important thing, would be nice but it's all about the stream quality and that you've solved.

Thanks again.

It would literally require magic to get the TuneIn servers to reach down into your local machine that's running MinimServer and use an icon from there. Smile

It isn't possible to do this. You would need to use a UPnP control point.

How do TuneIn do it?

Certainly with TuneIn on the Sonos controller, you can see all the radio station icons when you are just browsing the directory of stations without any streaming so it could be that TuneIn stores the icon along with its database of stations and the icon isn't provided by streaming at all.

TuneIn use a lot of meta data for each radio station, including a link to an image file, for example:

Code:
{ "element" : "outline",
"type" : "audio",
"text" : "BBC Manchester 95.1 (Community)",
"URL" : "http://opml.radiotime.com/Tune.ashx?id=s18214",
"bitrate" : "128",
"reliability" : "99",
"guide_id" : "s18214",
"subtext" : "Rugby League Extra",
"genre_id" : "g249",
"formats" : "mp3",
"show_id" : "p184777",
"item" : "station",
"image" : "http://d1i6vahw24eb07.cloudfront.net/s18214q.png",
"current_track" : "Rugby League Extra",
"now_playing_id" : "s18214",
"preset_id" : "s18214" }

PS, great work Simon, Minimserver is just getting better and better...

Hi Pete,

That's very interesting, how did you get hold of that piece of code, actually, how can I obtain the code for TuneIn presented station? Does it get delivered to the render/player as a plain text file as you show above?

There is an API for TuneIn, I did some work building an integration with TuneIn for my mediaplayer last year, but could not publish it in the end because I could not get a PartnerId from TuneIn..

https://github.com/PeteManchester/MediaP...o-Provider

It is a web based api, for example

http://opml.radiotime.com/Browse.ashx?render=json

Will give you the categories..

http://opml.radiotime.com/Browse.ashx?re...on&c=local

Will give you the local category

http://opml.radiotime.com/Browse.ashx?re...id=r100781

Will give you the Manchester local stations..

http://opml.radiotime.com/Browse.ashx?c=...partnerid=[ID]&username=[USERNAME]

If you have a UserAccount with TineIn and can get a PartnerId, this would give you all your preset favourites..

RE: Adding Artwork to BBC Radio streams workaround
Interesting, so hypothetically speaking, could I locally 'spoof' the preset favourites xml page on a local server to include minimStreamer's links but pass through all other information (like artwork) to my renderer?

Hi Alex,

That is how my mediaplayer works, I have a RadoiList.json file where I configure all my TuneIn stations and I can set my BBC stations to MinimServers url.

Not sure how you would do it on other mediaplayers though..

This is the type of link I use for streaming on Sonos:

http://192.168.0.3:9790/minimstreamer/*/...o_one.m3u8

SO CLOSE!!

You can only view this artwork in a UPnP control point.

So is there a dummies guide to setting this up? I just need the BBC artwork to display for the radio stations.
