Cannot Install 32 bit Minimserver On My Mac.

Hi,

I'm new to uPnP & I was recommended to try Minimserver. I've an Intel Mac with 5i 32-bit processor but when I try to open the program it informs me "This minimserver is for 32-bit only". I've tried to run the 16 bit version but this wants me to uninstall my Apple Java, and won't let me use my Chrome browser.

I'd appreciate some advice please.

The Intel Mac i5 is a 64-bit machine and requires the 64-bit version of MinimServer. The 32-bit version is for very old Macs (2006 vintage).

You don't need to uninstall Apple Java but you do need to install Oracle Java. It's fine to have both Apple Java and Oracle Java installed.

What exactly is the problem with using the Chrome browser?

Hi Simon,
The message about Java only occurred when I tried running the 16 bit version. I cannot get the 64 bit version to run - it stops with the message "This Minimserver is for 32 bit only" under a Minimserver install error as I mentioned above.

There is no 16-bit version, only a 32-bit version and a 64-bit version. You need to use the 64-bit version (MinimServer-0.8.2-macosx.dmg).
