Does MinimServer need UPnP to do DSD DoP?
Silly Question I know.. but if the only way to mount on a library share on a music player is via SMB.. that's it for DSD and DoP using MinimServer right?

You're correct that Minimserver doesn't support SMB.

If the player has a USB input, you might be able to send it a DoP stream by connecting the player's USB input to a computer and running a UPnP renderer such as JRiver or foobar2000 on the computer. Instead of using a computer, you could use a streamer box such as the SotM Mini Server (see this thread).

Sure.

Was investigating the possibility of this with a Bluesound Multiroom Node into a DAC.. only to discover Bluesound will only mount an SMB share (No DLNA) and only has SPDIF toslink out! (No USB)

So no go! Alas.
