Is this the small minim icon in the system tray or the larger "minims and stave" launch icon on your desktop? If it is the larger "minims and stave" launch icon on your desktop, you need to double-click this to get the small minim icon in the system tray. When you right-click the small minim icon in the system tray, you should get a pop-up menu with selections as described in this section.

This is the small Minim stave at the bottom rhs of the screen. I will re-install and try again after Christmas and post the result. In the meantime thank you and Best Wishes for Christmas.

If this is the system tray (bottom RHS), it should be a minim note with no stave. If you right-click on this icon, do you get a pop-up menu?

I have re-installed Minim Watch and now get the icon as you describe. If I hover the cursor over it says MinimServer is running and if I right click I get a menu starting 'Rescan' and finishing 'Exit' so it is working. The problem is that I don't understand how I change things so I think I am best leaving well alone. Thank you for your help and patience.

I'm glad to hear you now have MinimWatch running OK. To find out how to use the menu selections and/or change your configuration settings, the best places to start are this section and this page. You can post any specific questions here and I am sure you will get a helpful response.
