The most likely cause of the problem is your network multicast configuration. If you search this forum for "multicast", you should find a lot of previous discussion on this issue. What router are you using and does it have a setting named something like "multicast" or "IGMP snooping"? |

I'm not familiar with this device or the way it handles multicast traffic. On most routers, the setting is just off or on. You could try changing it to high to see whether this makes a difference. |

I am having the same issues with discovering the minimserver on a Synology NAS in combination with the NAIM app. I use Apple Time Capsule, toggled IGMP Snooping, multicast rates etc. but no improvement. It appears and the moment after it is gone. The Synology mediaserver is 'behaving' better. Is there a way to change the SSDP? Any options I can try? thx! |

Do you have a router as well as the Time Capsule? If so, which router is it? Does the router have any settings for IGMP snooping or multicast? |

I toggled the IGMP snooping on/off. Multicast set to low/middle/high. No result. Another Time Capsule is hardwired to the 'Router' Time Capsule throught ethernet cable. The Time Capsule which is in bridge mode is connected tot the Synology NAS. Direct connection to the Router doesn't help also. |

After this, power the equipment on again in the following order: 1) The router Time Capsule (then wait 5 minutes) 2) The bridge Time Capsule 3) The Synology NAS 4) The NAIM streamer 5) The iPad Does this help? |

Because after a few minutes it re-appears in the NAIM app. |

Because after a few minutes it re-appears in the NAIM app. I don't think it should make any difference that the devices have fixed IP addresses. MinimServer should appear all the time. It sounds like the SSDP "alive" announcements that MinimServer sends out every few minutes are being received by the NAIM app but the SSDP M-SEARCH requests that the NAIM app is sending out aren't being received by MinimServer. When MinimServer appears in the NAIM app after a few minutes, does it stay visible indefinitely or does it disappear after another few minutes? |
