Cannot start Minimwatch on MAC
When I try to start Minimwatch I get the response that it cannot be started due to a false value of the property "updatereminder"
How can I change this property? I cannot find the file with the properties

Try deleting Minimwatch and then install it again.

The other method I found was to stop Minimserver, delete its configuration file, "minimserver.config", the re start Minimserver and it will create a new file.

BTW updatereminder is set to "1" in my properties file.

The minimwatch.config file is in the folder

/Users/<your-user-name>/Library/MinimWatch

The /Users/<your-user-name>/Library folder is hidden in Finder, so you need to use 'Go to folder' and type the path in full.

Drag the minimwatch.config file to the Trash and restart MinimWatch. Reinstalling MinimWatch won't help because this doesn't remove the minimwatch.config file.

In a future update, I will add a check to prevent the user from setting this property to an incorrect value. It needs to be an integer between 1 and 30.

RE: Cannot start Minimwatch on MAC
Thanks for that information Simon. I would not have thought to look for the config file on the local machine. Good to know in case I mess up my settings ( I did this a week or so back when playing around with the ignore tag ).

RE: Cannot start Minimwatch on MAC
Hi Simon
I am having a problem getting minimwatch to run. It was running (V2.2) as far as i can tell (I have just purchased a new iMac) but showing a white icon which I ignored as i did not appreciate the significance of this at the time nor did i need to use minimwatch at that time. When I came to use minimwatch i was unable to as the icon was there but greyed out and so came across this chain. I have tried using both your first beta version 2.2r3 and the latest version 2.2r4 both, both exhibited the same behaviour in that neither release would run ie on launching no icon appeared at all. I am running Java version 1.8.0_431.

I have checked the minimwatch-out.log file which appears to suggest a Java problem:-

Would this be the reason minimwatch is not running on my machine and do you have any suggestions as to how i should fix the problem. Thankyou

RE: Cannot start Minimwatch on MAC
Is this an Intel iMac or M1/M2/M3?

Please attach the hs_err_pid5772.log file to a post here as a file attachment. Don't copy the contents of this file inline.

RE: Cannot start Minimwatch on MAC
Thanks for this. It looks like a bug in the version of Java you are using. Please try installing Java 21 as described on this page.
