The quest for gapless
Hello will it ever be possible for the server to serve gapless playback?

I am using a PS audio DAC, with a bridge card as render.

Kind regards

Morten

Gapless playback needs to be implemented by the renderer and supported by the control point. MinimServer serves gapless playback when used with renderers and control points that have this capability. This gapless playback problem is a known issue with the PS Audio DAC and bridge.

I am surprised people are still using equipment from PS Audio, a company that seems to operate in the last century as far as gapless playback is concerned. Pathetic !

I own a PerfectWave DAC v. II. Yes, the lack of gapless is frustrating. But the PWD easily competes in SQ with DACs that cost twice as much and more. And I picked up mine used, so it was a very good deal and I'd have to spend a lot to get better sound. So don't be surprised if I keep it. Smile

PSA is well aware of this issue. The processor used in the Bridge ceased to be supported after the company that made it was acquired by another, some time ago, so it was not possible to just upgrade the original. A new Bridge will be out before the end of the year, with gapless and some other enhancements.
