Default artwork location??
Hi Simon / Forum members,

I'm not sure that this is a problem with Minimserver per se, so I've posted here.

I have a number of tracks with 'no' artwork, but in my control point (Kinsky) they all display the same image (which I assume must have once been associated with a particular track). Ideally each track would have its own embedded artwork, but in the absence of this I'd like them to display the 'default' (Linn?) image but I have no idea how to change it.

When I display the track details in Kinsky, the relevant line seems to be this:

Artwork Uri http://192.168.0.2:9790/minimserver/*/mu...Folder.jpg

But where is the Folder.jpg that Kinsky is showing?

Any clues as to what's going on?

Simon

This Folder.jpg file is in your music/Singles folder. Please post the complete track details (full XML data) from Kinsky Windows. You can get the full XML data by pressing the 'Copy to clipboard' button in the Kinsky Windows "Details" window.

Update: I've managed to track the Folder.jpg file down - turns out WMP had created it as a hidden system file. I followed the steps here to reveal it:

Cheers!

I wasn't aware of this. MinimServer ignores hidden files, so I presume this image was a "system" file, not a "hidden system" file.

In order to detect and ignore "system" files that aren't "hidden", MinimServer would need to use a Java API that was added in Java 7. Implementing this would require some care to avoid causing problems when MinimServer is running on Java 6 (still necessary for some NAS platforms).
