Configuring radio streams with minimwatch
I'd be grateful for some help with configuring hi-def internet radio streams using minimwatch/server. I'm running minimserver on a synology NAS and therfore controlling it with minimwatch. To access radio streams the user guide mentions specifying a playlist (m3u) file in order to run this, but where can I input the stream location in minimwatch? Do I have to access minimserver directly on the NAS to do this?

Please don't post the same question to multiple threads. I have responded to your other post in this thread.

RE: Configuring radio streams with minimwatch
Hi.
Is it OK if I jump on this thread?

I too am trying to get HiDef (320kbps) radio to work on a Naim NDX. The buffer keeps emptying out and playback stutters and fails when using the inbuilt iRadio function of the NDX. One solution seems to be to route the traffic via minim streamer and UPnP. I have been trying to do this based on other posts in this forum.

I have created a M3U playlist containing the names and URLs of the radio audio streams and dropped it onto my Synology NAS in the same directory that my music is located.

I have been able to view the playlist in the N-Stream control point software on the iPad under "playlists" but when I click the name of the station I don't get playback. I don't know how to take this any further.

This is all a bit new to me so I would value any help you could offer.

I am attaching the playlist file I am using. What other info would be useful?

Thanks in advance!

John

Many of these URLs have '...' in them. Please check the original .m3u file to see whether these '...' strings are present there. If a URL contains '...', it is incorrect and it won't work.

If you try to play one the URLs without '...' (such as BBC Radio 2), does this work?

Are you using MinimServer or MinimStreamer to play these URLs?

Hi. Thanks for replying. Boy, am I dumb. I must have copied the incorrect stream info from the previous post on the forum.
When I attempt to play the URLs with the correct info (BBC 2) they still don't play.

I don't know how to answer your last part as I don't know enough about minim.
I am selecting minimserver in the control point software and navigating through the directory tree to the playlist folder. inside the folder are the radio stations from the playlist. I select one to play but nothing happens. I assumed I was selecting them to be played back via minim streamer?

Have you installed MinimStreamer?

When you view the stations in n-Stream, do you see two copies of each station, such as:

[BBC2] BBC Radio 2
BBC Radio 2

If so, which of these are you selecting? The first will play the stream using MinimStreamer and the second will play the stream using MinimServer.

I have installed minimstreamer and I do see the two copies.
I have tried both but to no avail.
