MinimServer on Asustor
Hi!
I have just bought Asustor As-202TE Nas and I have installed its upnp server but I want to install Minim server as I have a big collection of classical music and I use Minim in my PC which is great! Is it possible to install Minimserver on this NAS? I have installed java if this helps... |

RE: MinimServer on Asustor
If anyone wants to try out an experimental MinimServer package for any model of ASUSTOR NAS, please send me a PM.

Dear simoncn, I'm going to buy an Asustor NAS on this coming PC show in my town. I think Asustor is making some terrific NAS nowaday! I would be really glad to be a beta tester for the experimental MinimServer. I'm a heavy user in audio. |

RE: MinimServer on Asustor
Thanks Simoncn for the MinimServer test build for Asustor NAS. I have some problem with it.
I can install it successfully But when I click on the MinimServer icon, a new browser page with error appeared. My NAS IP is 169.254.1.2:8000, the new page IP is 169.254.1.2:9790. Noticed that MinimServer is not listed in Media Mode tab (in the Asustor Settings > General), while other streaming apps was listed there after installed. ========================================= Just noticed that MinimServer is a uPNP app that require a streamer to work, but I only have a USB DAC (Asustor SoundsGood app works with the DAC), possible to make it run in Player/Renderer mode? |

MinimServer is a server, not a renderer. You will need to use some other renderer. It should be possible to use XBMC, but I haven't been able to get this to work. I've installed XBMC and I've tried to connect to it using the XBMC Remote app on Android, but the connection is being refused. Update: I rebooted the NAS and I can now connect using the XBMC Remote app, but I can't find any way to set up XBMC to look for UPnP servers. I've been able to do this with XBMC on Windows. Is this perhaps a limitation of the ASUSTOR version of XBMC? |

I've been able to access the XBMC configuration UI by connecting the ASUSTOR HDMI output to a display. Using this, I have set up XBMC to discover MinimServer as a UPnP server. Having done this, the next step is to remove the HDMI cable from the ASUSTOR and reboot. When XBMC has restarted, I can use the XBMC Remote app on iOS (not Android) to play files from MinimServer using XBMC via the ASUSTOR audio jack. I haven't found a way to get XBMC to play files through a USB DAC, and I haven't found any other UPnP media players for the ASUSTOR. |

RE: MinimServer on Asustor
Thanks simoncn.
Somehow I have problem installing JRE manually (my NAS is not connected to LAN). Will try your solution once I've fixed the issue. |

RE: MinimServer on Asustor
Managed to install JRE and run MinimServer...
But how to turn the server status from "Stopped" to "Running"? And how to input the full path of content directory? Thanks. |
