This is a major release with some significant changes. Please see the Release notes for detailed information.

Hi Simon,

I successfully upgraded on Windows..

Congratulations on yet another major step forward for MinimServer, you have added some great new features...

Thanks for all your hard work,

Pete.

I upgraded to the new version on Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit without issues.

I also wanted to thank Simon for the new release. I'm looking forward to testing the new features.

Ciprian

Simon, thank you so much for your continued efforts Smile
With UPnP Search now implemented, this could just as well have been named 1.0

And I'm particularly happy about the browser status feature.

Raspberry Pi - simple install

I hadn't set anything special in the previous version so simply removed the folders for the two instances I had running, unzipped the archive, ran setup and away we went. My second instance was for mp3 files, but I'm not fussed about that so it can wait until I have time to fiddle about Smile

Thanks Simon.

All installed fine on QNAP 459Pro+ and on windows 8.1 :-)

I have looked for the url format for the web browser page but so far cannot find it. Can you point me to it

Thanks Peter ps: there is a typo in the Web browser section of the Running MinimServer page of the User Guide

Web browser status page [NEW]

While MinimServer is running, you can access a web browser status page hosted by MiunimServer. From this status page, you can check whether MinimServer is running, set an initial content directory, and initiate a rescan of your library.

Peter

RE: MinimServer 0.8.1 is now available
EDIT: ignore, I had a stale data_ folder that I probably created long ago. Removing it solved the problem.

After updating, I get miniserver always crashing when browsing the album folder with BubbleUPnP:

RE: MinimServer 0.8.1 is now available
Thanks Simon! One question, how do I get the tagging in order with .wav? I am using Kinsky and I have edited .wav with ID3v2.4.0 tags, but I get the file name in the overview. What did I forget to set up? (also no album art is visible which is embedded).

Many thanks again for this huge upgrade!

Hi Simon,

As I understood there is still no automatic rescan function.
I'm right?

Darius

Thanks Simon.

To create a second instance, you should be able to make a new directory underneath /home/pi, unpack the MinimServer archive into this directory, then follow the normal installation instructions. However, there are likely to be problems if you enable desktop integration or automatic startup for the second instance. I'll think about how to handle this.

OK figured this out when I saw http.port in the System tab of MinimServer System Properties.
So I used ip_address:http.port which in my case was 192.168.1.50:9790
Sorted :-)

Peter
