Are you saying the dsf and dff files play using Plug Player and MinimServer? I updated the firmware, and they still won't play for me using the Kinsky app. Also, MinimServer still doesn't show up in the Oppo remote app (only SMB is in the list). Before I spend $5 for Plug Player I want to be sure.

RE: DSD files and the Oppo
^ Yep. MinimServer and the Oppo show up. And both dsf and dff show up and play. I didn't say gaplessly and dff has the tagging problem, but sure, they seem to play.. heck don't hold me on that for 5 bucks!

Is this just via USB? Does it work for UPnP streaming?
Hello Simon, sorry for late answer. Yes this is just via USB. For UPnP streaming and gapless, the CUE file thing seems to be the best solution for now.

RE: DSD files and the Oppo
If Gapless isn't a priority:...and one has purchased some dff downloads, use the fantastic little program dff2dsf to convert files to dsf. No additional tagging is required.... Album folders and files can now be located and separated easily with MinimServer using the #Audiochannels tag: 2 for stereo and 5.1 and 5.0 for multichannel. And now with the recent Oppo firmware streamed straight out of the player....How good is THAT!!! Awesome.

Which software are you using to tag the DSF files? This should be working if the tags have been written in the correct format.

RE: DSD files and the Oppo
^Sorted Simon. Tagged them with Yate.. it's the OSX tagging program written by same guy who wrote dff2dsd..

(Prior to that I was simply expecting to get MinimServer to see the ("non"tags) in the dff>to converted dsf files (make sense?): hehe.

Of course one had to add tags to these converted files Smile

Next time I'll just be getting dsf files straight up.. going to be a lot easier Smile

So really the only thing now stopping the Oppo being the perfect "allround" streamer with MinimServer (as has been pointed out) is "failure to support" gapless playback via uPnP.

RE: DSD files and the Oppo
I thought I would share with you how you can stream dff files from Minimserver with Bubble UPnP to Oppo. I want to stream dff files to my Oppo 105 but don't want to use the Oppo built in control point as I don't want the television turned on. Instead, I want to use Bubble UPnP.

If you want to play dff or dsf files on your Oppo, it is possible with Bubble UPnP on Android. As per default settings Bubble UPnP will not play the dff file from Minimserver. But if you closely watch the error messages on Bubble UPnP when you want/try to play the dff file, it says it has something to do with not recognized mime-types.

Apparently Bubble UPnP doesn't recognize the dff mime-types (like most UPnP control points). Fortunately you can change this behaviour in Bubble UPnP. Just start Bubble UPnP and go Settings -> UPnP Tweaks (scroll down) and uncheck 'Mime-type check'. This will force playback the dff file. BubbleUPnP can stream the dff to Oppo now (instead of skipping).

As far as I know, only Bubble UPnP allows you to do this. Kinsky always check the mime type but it can not recognize dff/mime so it can not stream to Oppo. Hope that in a future update it will.

RE: DSD files and the Oppo
some addition to above post ... I additionally also installed BubbleUPnP Server on my server and created a proxy Media Server for Minimserver. Then it works perfectly streaming dff files to Oppo with Bubble UPnP.
