Minstrel - asking for early testers

I've only briefly tested it as a LAN based UPnP controller and it seems to work well, though it does still hang every now and again on startup.

It's not really competitive as a UPnP control point on Android but I know that's not your focus. I don't know if these have been addressed already, but as a minimum I'd recommend:

• Breadcrumb menu
• Artwork on playlist/album screens
• Much more information dense (see attached image)
• Add option to disable superfluous information e.g. Year and track count in album listings, file format and track duration in track listings.

Artwork should be working. It does work for me. If there is still a problem, PM me the details: Which media server, how artwork is stored and which other control point works.
Yes, will try to improve visually. But I am not going to put too many options in the menu.

I think typically there is one image for the album. Do you really want it repeated in the track list?

I'm not seeing any album artwork, just the tracks. I wouldn't want to see artwork per track, though I do have one album where each track has unique artwork.

Rather than continue on this forum I would like to move further discussion of specific Minstrel bugs and features to github. That is, unless your comment is specific to minim.

The app is not specific to minimserver after all, even though I am grateful to find most receptive users here.

For specific bugfixes you can open a github issue. For general requests and observations use the discussion forum. Or you can email me at support@minstrelplayer.org

That said, I still need a few more android users willing to participate in closed testing.
