Full license minimserver
Hi. I need help. I have been using the free version of Minimserver on my Asustor NAS for 2 yrs plus and I stream my digital music from my Ipad via the lumin app. I find its very good, the musicserver is the "minimserver".
I am also using Roon separely. Todal Ive decided to get the full license of minimserver. I purchased and installed it. I launched my Lumin app and run the Minimserver. To me everything is the same. Cosmeticaly, theres no different. I failed to see any different between the full license and the free ver. Am i missing somethg here. Shd I run another client or something? |

Do we need to input these parameters? Can u show me your client screen? I also noticed that mine is not installed with minimstreamer. How do I use the minimstreamer? "MinimStreamer is not installed. Your MinimServer full license allows you to install MinimStreamer and use it until May 17, 2027. |

RE: Full license minimserver
This is the Lumïn app folder view corresponding to my tags configuration
You can install MinimStreamer too but remember that you need to subscribe the year maintenance (starting from next year) to maintain the ability to use it. MinimStreamer can be used (check MinimStreamer user guide): - to resample your files - to listen to radios - to define filters for DSP/DRC |

Ive attached 3 docs to show [attachment=3548 to show the minimserver screen] [attachment=3549 to show after I chosen folder view] [attachment=3547 show 1 folder I chisen to stream] No this screens has no difference in the unpaid version. In the unpaid ver, I can also stream radio internet. TQ for helping to show me but I seem cant see any differences. |

RE: Full license minimserver
The full license enables a number of extra browsing indexes by default:
Recently Added Recently Played Audio Data Audio Format Audio Quality The LUMIN app doesn't show these by default. To see them, you need to use "folder view" in the LUMIN app. The full license also enables automatic index artwork, which shows artwork on selections such as Artist. Again, to see this in the LUMIN app you need to use "folder view." There are many other options that you can enable with the full version (see this section). For most of them, you need to use "folder view" in the LUMIN app (the icon that looks like a file folder). Confusingly, this doesn't show the folders in your library structure but shows the full MinimServer index with all features enabled. |

I did not even add any tags. Ok example on recently added, I already have it in my index tag. I dont remember putting it via the unpaid ver. |

If you don‘t even have any tags in your audio files, the paid license is useless. Tags are the backbone of a server. Yes, you can fit an artist and a title into a file name and also an album into the folder name. This may be fine for small libraries of contemporary music. But once you get into classical music and/or want to curate and also browse your library in extended depth you need a more capable server. Just a small example. I have many albums from pre-CD times i.e. before 1983. My digital versions of these are e.g. from 2011 while the original release date is 1979. I keep both dates in the tags of my files. Depending on how I customise the fully licenced version of MinimServer I can browse both dates or simply choose by which date the albums of an album artist are sorted and what is displayed in my control point during playback. I won‘t even start to get into the tagging and browsing of classical music. This may sound silly to you. But with a larg(er) library you start to wonder what you‘ve actually got there and want to dig in deeper. |

You are seeing Recently Added in indexTags and on the browsing main menu because it was added automatically when you upgraded to the full version. It is not possible to add Recently Added if you are on the free version. |
