Minimserver 2.1-2.2 docker container failed to start on DSM 7.2

I'm building minimserver container on synology DS1522+ DSM 7.2.2-72806 Update 4 with container manager. I've managed to make minimserver 2.2-7002 in package centre work perfectly, yet no good for docker version. For older version such as 2.0.18, it runs without any issue, but for 2.1-2.2 with the same configuration of 2.0.18, the container will stop in several seconds after activation without any log output and the synology shows the container stopped accidentally. I've tried 2.2 docker on ubuntu and openwrt, it runs perfectly. So it seems to be a synology only issue for version 2.1+.

My configuration is shown below, in this case I've simplified it as much as possible to make it work but still filed while 2.0.18 is fine with this.
network host
no volume mounted
enviroment variable, entrypoint and commend left to be default

You need the host music library volume and the host MinimServer volume to be mounted.

There is a new guide for setting up MinimServer on Container Manager in this section. Please follow these instructions exactly and let me know what heppens.

I have tested this guide on DSM 7.2.1 and it is working for me.

I have tested this guide on DSM 7.2.1 and it is working for me.

Thank you for your reply, still I tried this first and the result is the same. It just stopped in several seconds after start with a blank log output.

I am trying to work out how I can try this myself. I only have one Synology NAS that supports Container Manager and this is running DSM 7.2.1. If I update it to 7.2.2 and I have the same problem as you, I will not able to run MinimServer in Container Manager and I might not be able to downgrade back to 7.2.1.

As an alternative, I am trying to set up VMM on 7.2.1 to run 7.2.2 as a virtual DSM and then install Container Manager in virtual DSM 7.2.2 for testing. It will probably take a bit of time to do all this.

Has anyone else been able to run MinimServer in Container Manager on DSM 7.2.2?

I now have DSM 7.2.2 running in Virtual Machine Manager and I am seeing the same problem as you. All my attempts to obtain diagnostic information about the cause of the problem have so far been unsuccessful.

Hi everyone. FYI - have kinda same problem. DSM 7.1.1 but Minimserver 2.2 container won't start without anything in the logs.

Tried 2.0.18 - another problem. It started, but can't map music folder and no license/config files created. Tried to figure out is this the rights problem - no, it's not - via docker /bin/sh I see both folders, even tried RW in Minimserver folder and it works too (can created & delete files). But - still getting "MinimServer shared folder on host is not shared with this container" error.

I have sucessfully created a working container using Container Manager running on Virtual DSM 7.2.2. My previous tests had incorrect container settings.

I have had some success debugging startup issues by opening an ssh connection to DSM and running a command like this:

sudo docker run -v /volume1/MinimServer:/MinimServer -v /volume1/Music:/Music --network host --name minimtest --entrypoint "/bin/sh" minimworld/minimserver:latest -x /opt/minimserver/bin/startd wait

The container name minimtest is an example and can be anything you choose. This should produce debug output from the MinimServer start script in the ssh terminal window. Please try this and post the debug output as a file attachment. Don't try to copy it inline to a post because this makes the forum very hard to read.

I will also look into what I can do to improve the diagnostics provided by MinimServer for this situation.
