I have tested quite a few apps, and Lumin still stays on top.

My one and only dream: that it can read pdf booklet... But I fear that may never happen

I use that functionality (Comment.displayFormat) to link to artist and album reviews on AllMusic, so that would be a great loss for me.
   

Lumin is still broken on Android as it performs a full scan every time it's opened; I assume it must be miscounting albums (use of Group/DiscSubtitle).

Isn't Jplay an option, unless you need OpenHome of course?

Simbun - works fine on my iPhone
I am probably teaching you to suck eggs, but you do know you have to configure Lumin, under settings, the preset for either tablet or phone presentations.

On startup Lumin requests the album count from MinimServer, and - I assume - because it now matches the Lumin album count a full rescan isn't performed, but I lose a lot of functionality.

That option isn't available in the phone app.

Jplay: at 52€ a year, or 199€ one shot ? Do you really find the difference with Lumin worth this huge amount of money ?

For me, at that price, it is almost as bad as Roon.

More generally speaking, my pleasure is to listen to music. If I start browsing the life of the composer, which other album was recorded by the interpret, etc.. I am no longer in the music. I do this after or before, and therefore I have a lot of free sites to get those infos, I don't need to pay 200€ or 500$.

PS : I have no problem using Lumin on a iPhone. On Android, it seems there is a consensus around BubbleUpnp as being the best. As much as I like their server to compensate for renderer who are not Upnp AV, their app does not talk to me. De gustibus et coloribus non es diputandem.

It's a shame really as with a few little tweaks Lumin could be quite usable:

• Stop caching the library
• Improve album view
• Add a persistent list view
  

but in its current state I couldn't use it on a phone.

I've never used Jplay, but if I were on iOS and Jplay was comparable to BubbleUPnP then I'd certainly consider it - though I'd hate myself for it ;-)

I notice that the latest Lumin app update, 12.1.0, contains a feature called Support Minimserver Booklet.
How do I find out more about this?

At last !

I wrote many years ago to Lumin, asking for this to come...

Can't wait to test this when I am back home.

BTW my files are called Booklet.pdf, will this work also ? or should it be all lower case ?
