RE: QNAP starts but crash out
Thanks for letting me know.
You should remove the minimstart.conf file for now. If you get this situation again with normal-sized playlists, you could reinstate it. Your NAS has 1 GB of RAM, so Java allocates 256 MB of heap space (25%) by default. You could increase this a little without causing problems but I would not recommend going over 512 MB. Although 5 GB is clearly impossibly large for a playlist file, it is hard to see how MinimServer could impose an appropriate size limit. For example, would 10 MB be enough to cover all possible cases? or 20 MB? or 30 MB? ...etc. I think a better approach would be to improve the diagnostic message when this happens. So that I can create a suitable test, what were the contents of the 5 GB file? |

RE: QNAP starts but crash out
Thanks for the information in your PM.
I have not been able to reproduce this crash dump error. I am able to force an OutOfMemoryError by creating a very large .m3u playlist file but this produces a sensible error message in the log showing the filename and line number. Scanning then continues with the next file. Without a test case that reproduces the problem, I am unable to make any further progress with this. |

RE: QNAP starts but crash out
I have made a small change that might help improve the diagnostic message when this happens. This change will be in the next MinimServer update.
