Minimserver not finding new music

Do you mean the folder which contains the music-files or do you mean the folder "MinimServer". The music-files-folder has under permissions no MinimServer and there is no button to "Create". (Attachment below)

Do not make any changes to the MinimServer shared folder. The folder that needs to be changed is the shared folder where you keep your music library. You should see this folder when you open File Station. On my NAS, I have named this folder Music and it appears in the left sidebar when I open FileStation. You need to right-click on this folder (not open it) and select Properties to see the first dialog.

Posting this in case it helps anyone else with the same issue I had.

Simon's solution below helped fix the following:

Problem: Android control apps Bubbleupnp and Hi-Fi Cast were not seeing any updates to the music in my library after triggering Minimserver to do a rescan.

For added clarity, in step 8, 'Apply to this folder, sub-folders and files' is a check box you select before clicking 'Done'

DSM 7 does not allow MinimServer to run as the root user. Instead, MinimServer runs as the MinimServer user. The MinimServer user is a member of the MinimServer group and the administrators group.

I don't have this check box in the properties of the Shared Folder!

You have selected Edit and Permissions from Shared Folder in Control Panel. To see the correct dialog, you need to open File Station, then select Properties for a shared folder, then select Permission.

That's what I do. But I only see the dialog, if I open a folder inside the shared folder. See the screenhots above.

Where am I making the mistake?

This is exactly what I do, but I have a different window as you can see it above.

If I try this prozedure on another shared folder it works. It seems that I have different properties on my shared folders.

I found the solution:

I had to convert the shared folder to "Windows ACL". Now I have the same view on properties as you.
