No desktop icon on KDE

I have an issue with the new OS (Kubuntu 22.04 instead of Linux Mint) because I don’t have any desktop icon. The icon appears a few seconds on the app section, but disappears after. I can edit on console only one directory. I would like to have a graphical user interface.

Do you have TopIconsFix installed as described in this post?

Not yet. I don’t know how I have to do because my desktop is Plasma, and to install TopiconFix I have to have gnome-session, but I don’t know what’s happened if I do that!

I installed Kubuntu 22.04 to find out what is causing this problem.

The icon that shows for a few seconds in the app section after launching MinimServer is not the minim icon of the MinimServer desktop UI. It is the MinimServer launch icon, shown by Kubuntu to confirm that MinimServer was launched successfully.

To see the minim icon and use the MinimServer desktop UI, you need to install the full version of Java including the UI classes. To do this, run the following command:

sudo apt install default-jdk

After doing this, stop and restart MinimServer. Because there is no minim icon to restart MinimServer, the simplest way to do this is to reboot Kubuntu. You don't need to install TopIconsFix.

The minim icon should now appear in the icons section at the lower right of the screen. When you mouse over it, you will see that Kubuntu shows the title JavaEmbeddedFrame. This doesn't happen on other platforms and it isn't possible for MinimServer to change this because Kubuntu is getting this title from the Java runtime. Apart from this, the minim icon should work in the same way as it does on other Linux platforms.

OK, now I am on OS X, but I will do that when I am on Linux. After that, I will say if it is OK. Thanks for the help and to try with installing Kubuntu 22.04.
