Hi.
My envoronment is QNAP NAS with Minimserver and Denon RCD N12 with RC. The following list contains the steps I have to perform if I want to listen the music items of a specfic genre. A description of the device display and the clicks with my RC. * Display 1 shows options like Internet Radio, Music Servers, USB a.o. * Display 2 shows Minimserver * Display 3 shows options like Search, Artists, Albums, Genres a.o. * Display 4 shows the selected option Genres * Display 5 shows the first genre, in my case Africa * Display 6 shows for the selected genre options like 878 albums, 1476 items a.o. * Display 7 shows selected option 1476 items * Display 8 shows first item of the selected option 1476 items * Display 9 shows an virtual item "Play All/+Alle wiedergeben" after a few seconds * Display 10 shows options for the virtual item "Play all" after a few seconds like Play now, add to the end of the playlist. Is there a chance to get this faster without that many steps? Just a question ![]() Here are the pictures Google Drive |

RE: Lots of steps until I can hear music
If you set the listViewAlbums property to 'all', display 6 will change to a list of album names for the Africa genre. You might be able to select Play All from this list.

RE: Lots of steps until I can hear music
I see a list of album names, but no additional option 'play all from this list'.
if I click an individual album, then the option is available for the items of this album. (18-12-2023 20:52)simoncn Wrote: If you set the listViewAlbums property to 'all', display 6 will change to a list of album names for the Africa genre. You might be able to select Play All from this list. |

RE: Lots of steps until I can hear music
Thanks for trying this. I don't think it is possible to make the sequence of steps shorter.

Most of the steps are being introduced by the Denon interface itself. Using my control point I just need to select the Genre index, then click on the vertical ellipsis next to the genre I'm interested in and select Play/Shuffle play e.t.c It looks like it's HEOS enabled so the HEOS app might work, although an app like BubbleUPnP would be quicker. |

BubbleUPnP has an option to eliminate duplicates but most control points don't provide this option. |

RE: Lots of steps until I can hear music
Hi Your input is really appreciated. I always enjoy communication to people full of knowledge and willing to share.
I do have BubbleUPnP and HEOS app on my smartphone. So this gives me some Freedom, Even if a remote control is a bit old fashioned using the RC was my idea, expecting it could be very handy. There is another potential issue. Actually I have 3 devices and the complexity is growing depending on this number, hence I tried to live without my smartphone. * First our TV * then our Denon (linked to the TV via HDMI eARC) and * at least my Smartphone This can interfere when switching to watching TV. It can happen that I still hear music from my NAS. I am happy with the various options. In a few days that I take a decision either for the RC or for BubbleUPnP. We'll see. |
