Missing files after rescan
I have just purchased a download from Qobuz of the new Corelli 2 CD set of Op.6 Concerti by Academia Byzantina.

I can see all of the tracks listed in the download. I can also see all of the tracks in the copy transferred to my NAS. MinimServer in the NAS has been rescanned. However the result is that my player ( dCS Mosaic) shows everything except tracks 6-11inclusive ( Concerto 8) of CD 2 ( separate folder from Qobuz) which are missing even though they can be seen on PC and NAS using Network Explorer and can even be played when using Win 11 on the PC.

I have tried twice with the same negative result.

So the download can be written to NAS but these tracks are not being picked up in a rescan. Could there be a property erroneously included or missing in the files for these that prevents MinimServer recognising them in the rescan?

Any ideas?

I have noticed in the past that some tracks downloaded from Qobuz have the extension FLA rather than FLAC - this might be your problem

Thanks. That seems feasible. I have now complained to Qobuz ( past shades of returning a faulty discs Smile). I have checked the file properties and they do look like FLACs but I cannot see the full extension so it may be this or something similar. Thanks again.

RE: Missing files after rescan
You can check metadata too, it happened to me that only some tracks were tagged in right way.
You can use MP3tag if on Windows or Kid3 on Mac (very basic but enough to check metadata)

RE: Missing files after rescan
Have you checked the MinimServer log for error messages? If files are missing after a rescan, this is the place to start.

The files missing from the rescan ( not download) have now been independently checked by a third party using an MP3 editor and with other copies of the files. This confirms that all of them have only been partially tagged. No doubt that is why the rescan cannot recognise them. Qobuz have been advised and are to ask for a redelivery of the recordings(corrected) from the record label. This may take a few weeks to achieve.

@Simon: If a file is not properly tagged, it shows in both [Untagged] and [folder view] to my knowledge, or am I mistaken?

RE: Missing files after rescan
This depends on what the tagging problem is. If the tag format is seriously corrupt, MinimServer might not be able to scan the file. The MinimServer log would show this and this is why I asked the OP for this information.

Unfortunately I have no idea how to use the logs. Using MinimWatch? What would I do to isolate the required data? The problem is that I am elderly without a computer background and with limited visionSad.

RE: Missing files after rescan
If you are running MinimWatch, you can select 'Show log' from the minim icon menu to view the log.

If you are not running MinimWatch, you can use File Station on your NAS to view the log file. The log file is named minimserver.log. On a Synology NAS this file is in the MinimServer/appData folder and on a QNAP NAS this file is in the MinimServer folder.

The log will show any warnings or errors that MinimServer has found when scanning your library. If there are no messages, this means all files have been scanned with no errors found.
