RE: timing out
On what device and operating system are you using MinimServer? MinimServer itself AFAIK does not time out, so this will be a device issue.

RE: timing out
If you are running MinimServer on a Mac, the Mac will go into sleep mode if you have not interacted with the Mac via the mouse or keyboard for some time period. The exact details of when this happens and how to prevent it depend on what version of macOS you are running. When the Mac is in sleep mode, the network connection doesn't work and music streaming stops.

To prevent this happening on my Intel MacBook running macOS Catalina, the power adapter needs to be connected. Also, under System Preferences > Energy Saver > Power Adapter, the box "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" needs to be checked.

On my M1 MacBook running macOS Ventura, this works differently. Under System Preferences > Battery, setting Low Power Mode to Never allows music to continue to play either if the power adapter is connected or if the computer is running on battery.

If you are running MinimServer on a Mac, which version of macOS are you using and do you have the power adapter connected?

RE: timing out
"Power adapter" is a MacBook thing. If you have an iMac, it is always connected by the power cord.

What version of macOS (Catalina, Big Sur, Monterey, Ventura) are you running? You can find this in About This Mac.

RE: timing out
Big Sur....I supposedly upgraded. to Minim Server 2.2 yet when I open my 'downloads' it still says 2.1....why??I'm going to be getting a new iMac in a week or so ...hopefully some of this problem is coming from my current iMac being so old..

RE: timing out
To confirm the MinimServer version you are running, select About from the minim icon in the menu bar. If this says 2.2, you are definitely running 2.2. It doesn't matter if the version in your Downloads folder is older than this.

I tried Big Sur on my Intel MacBook. If the box "Prevent computer from sleeping automatically when the display is off" is checked, I am able to run MinimServer with no timeouts. On my MacBook, this box is under System Preferences > Battery > Power Adapter but it is probably in some other location on an iMac because there is no battery mode.
