Interestingly, I switched to a router which manages IMGP snooping; it worked fine for three months; then introduced a new switch and bingo, bug came back. |

RE: The control app thread
It is not unlikely this new switch (unmanaged?) supports IGMP snooping and therefore causes network problems.

RE: The control app thread
Do you mean the LUMIN app bug came back when you added the switch after 3 months? If so, this is useful information because it suggests that the problem might be an issue with the network or possibly some interaction between an issue with the network and an issue with the LUMIN app.

RE: The control app thread
This mention of IGMP made me curious to try this myself to see what happens. My network is fully set up to correctly handle IGMP queries (i.e., IGMP snooping is enabled and configured to work correctly). I started the LUMIN app on my iPad and a Linn renderer, played some music and then cleared the playlist. After 55 minutes, the LUMIN app was still seeing the Linn renderer. After another 30 minutes, the Linn renderer was no longer visible. Restarting the Linn renderer made it visble again in the LUMIN app.
I think this means the LUMIN app bug is not caused by issues with IGMP snooping, unlike many other similar problems that have been discussed on this forum. |

RE: The control app thread
The new Linn app version 4.6.2 (iOS) is now out.
Finally a critical bug is over: the searches from track details (Artists, Composer, …) now work as they should. With these fixes the app is now, in my opinion, fully functional and can be an interesting substitute/alternative to Lumïn app |

RE: The control app thread
Regarding Bubbleupnpserver blastAliveInterval settings I reverted back from 480 to 0 as I could observe some strange behaviors on my network that disappeared setting it to 0 again. Two over all where the strange symptoms:
- I lost more than one time the control of my server (Ubuntu 22.04/Minimserver/Bubbleupnpserver), it became impossible to remote connect to it (using TeamViewer) - Lumïn app (iPadOS) started flickering at launch, never happened before |

Two over all where the strange symptoms:It would have to be a major bug in the blastAliveInterval functionality to affect the connection to the server, let alone be able to affect an iPad app. I've just monitored MinimServer for the last 35 minutes and it appears to be broadcasting on average every 6 minutes (I assume that's why it's always found in Lumin), so I'll implement your blastAliveInterval (8 minutes) in BubbleUPnP and capture what's going on, later. |

I have checked what MinimServer is doing in my setup. The interval between Notify Alive messages seems to be between 7.5 and 8 minutes. From this, it appears that the ohNet developers have increased the frequency of these messages in more recent ohNet versions. |

Had a try - took ages and several restarts to find my Linn ADS. The whole project of this software, which still does not seem to have a proper name, is quite incredible. How many years has it been in TestFlight? How many of us have spent how many hours working for free to try to help Linn produce a viable project? How is Linn going to reward us? Still prefer Lumin for all its faults. Donuk sunny downtown York |
