Displaying Composer at control points/renderers
Hi. I know that tagCustom was removed from Minimserver 2 and replaced by upnpCustom. I have tried to use this like I did in previous versions of Minimserver to display composers instead of artists at control points etc, but when I add Composer.displayRole{artist} to this new property I just get an error message and cannot restart Minimserver. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong? Thanks.

In MinimServer 2, the tagCustom setting Composer.displayRole={artist} is not needed because this is enabled by default.

What was the value you used previously for tagCustom? Was it just Composer.displayRole={artist} or something else?

The value I previously used was exactly that. I did have a Cambridge Audio StreamMagic ver 2 at the time but now I have the CXNv2. Maybe the new software from Cambridge Audio doesn’t behave as it used to. So I see the artist displayed with each track playing, whereas I would love to see the track name and composer for each track.

RE: Displaying Composer at control points/renderers
This setting prevents AlbumArtist values from being sent to the control point while allowing Composer values to be sent. To do the same thing in MinimServer 2, set upnpCustom to roleTags={Composer}.

The default if nothing is set in upnpCustom is to send AlbumArtist and Composer values to the control point so that the control point can decide how best to use this information. This is the right thing to do with most control points.

Thanks Simon. I’ll try that. Might just be the software I use doesn’t play ball with this idea. I can live without it. None of the control points I use seem to want to choose Composer.

RE: Displaying Composer at control points/renderers
As an alternative you could set tagValue property to
Artist.merge={Composer}
in this way Composer will appear in the Artist list
