But I only find the app with the black icon. I already had this installed. But the found app offered me an "install" button anyway. Now I have two black linn apps that look the same. I can open both apps in the play store, but in a browser only the second URL das work: See this thread on the Linn Development site: https://development.linn.co.uk/thread-677.html |

RE: The control app thread
You seem to have a private feud with JPLAY, haven’t you?
I myself have never said it improves sound in anyway. I just like its well-made UI. And besides, there are, for iOS users, few apps compatible with MinimServer. To each his own! |

RE: The control app thread
I sincerely apologize if my last reply concerning the JPlay app was offensive or harsh! It wasn’t my intention.
Please accept my apologies! Best regards to everyone who contribute to a very interesting forum! |

RE: The control app thread
Hello
Hope everyone is doing well. I need help with Linn app and MinimServer connectivity issue. (image attached) For last 2 years I have been enjoying the bliss on playing my entire classical collection on Linn equipment, but in recent week so, whenever I open LinnApp it can't find the server and load my library, or music start and stop. My Mac is connected via ethernet to the Linn Climax DSM, and use LinnApp to navigate the library remotely. I had entire house rewired and wifi points set up to make sure all is fine without drop outs. I had the network guy today to check if anything changed in settings, but nothing. Any idea. Or is there better app to navigate between Minim and Climax remotely. Help! Thanks in advance J |

RE: The control app thread
Just for a test to try to troubleshoot the issue you could use MConnect Player Lite (free) to check it can discover Minimserver

RE: The control app thread
… I’m using Linn app (iOS) 4.6.1.2 and no issues to discover Minimserver.
Is your Minimserver running on Mac? Which color is the Minimserver icon? |

RE: The control app thread
Do you use your Mac to run MinimServer? If so, do you see the minim icon (musical note) in the Mac menu bar? When you hover the mouse cursor over this icon, is there any error message?
Also, if the Mac is sleeping (power save), MinimServer will not be visible on your network. |

RE: The control app thread
I am testing the new JPLAY iOS for a few days and I am truly satisfied with it. In spite of its fairly high price (50 € per year), I like its UI! I have MinimServer installed on an old Mac Book Air running Linux Mint that streams via Ethernet to a Raspbery Pi 4B running GentooPlayer. The Raspberry Pi is USB connected to my Devialet Expert 120. JPlay iOS runs on my iPad iOS 16.3.
The system runs now for days completely stably, without any hiccups. It’s a relief when compared to the Lumin app that constantly drops connection to the renderer! In essence, the interplay between MinimServer/JPlay iOS and the renderer is very good! JPlayOS completely replaces Roon in my system! |

RE: The control app thread
I have deleted the last few posts as they crossed the line from technical discussion to personal and/or non-technical criticism.
Any more posts in a similar vein will also be deleted. It is fine to discuss technical topics such as sound quality claims. It is not fine to question the motives of someone who posts or to criticise the writing style or security settings of a product website. |
