licence expired on NAS

MinimServer stopped working on my NAS mentioning my licence was expired on 23-8-2022.
After a restart everything works fine again but I wonder why this has happened.
I did do a restart after renewing my licence on 10-08-2022 according the instructions "Thank you for purchasing a license subscription for MinimServer 2 updates and MinimStreamer. You need to restart MinimServer to activate the extended expiry date of 23 August 2023." The log gave no other information than MinimServer was still running while the icon was red.

After you have extended your license, your local instance of MinimServer needs to contact the license server to check for an updated license expiry date.

Also, if MinimStreamer has been stopped and disabled because the previous expiry date was not updated before expiry, MinimServer needs to be restarted so that MinimStreamer can be restarted and enabled.

Restarting MinimServer does both of the above.

The message for the red icon informs you why MinimStreamer has stopped working.

So the NAS needs to be restarted after expiry date (23-08-2022) instead of the purchase date ( 10-08-2022)?

The NAS does not need to be restarted. You only need to restart MinimServer by selecting Restart from MinimWatch.

You need to do this restart after you have purchased the license extension (10-08-22). If you do this before the expiry date (23-08-22), you will not get a red icon. If you don't do this before the expiry date, you will get a red icon on the expiry date which can be fixed by doing a restart.

I was pretty shure I did restart MinimServer on the NAS before the expiry date, but since it worked immediately after a restart today, I am probably mistaken.
