Manually entered CD data not picked up by minim server
I am using the Minim server on a Melco N 100. Having ripped a large number of CD's the meta data for a small number could not be found on the internet. I was able to enter the Melco library via my network and manually enter the CD title and song titles etc. Having re-checked, these changes have definitely been accepted. I have updated the library several times. However, the minim server which I am accessing via an Iphone Naim app for the Naim ND5XS will not show these manually entered titles. Consequently I have no way at all of playing these CDs. Please help to resolve this problem.

RE: Manually entered CD data not picked up by minim server
Hmm, in that case, the tag changes you performed may not have changed the file modification date.
MinimServer will only detect changes if this date changes between rescans. MinimServer has a configuration setting which can override this requirement. However, I don't think it is available through the Melco menu screen, only through MinimWatch. The Melco quickstart link, from an earlier post, contains a section describing how to download, install and run MinimWatch. The property to change is startupScan setting it to Full edit - after the rescan, set the property setting back to False If this resolves the issue, you should check the tagging program to see if you can get it to change the file modification dates when tags are updated. |

RE: Manually entered CD data not picked up by minim server
If on Melco you can use Manual Edit feature of SongKong and that will update the file modification date, have you tried using SongKong to modify the titles ?

Many thanks indeed for your reply Paul. I've just been into Song Kong and can see how to do that. Hopefully I should be able to fix my issue now. thanks again. Jeremy |
