Profile Name visible in Watch Properties ?
Now that MinimServer2 allows to create profiles I spent a bit of time and made 2 new profiles: "With_Albumgain" and "With_Trackgain". The default profile remains my as a fallback for whatever mistakes I make when editing the properties in MinimWatch (and that happens a lot). During the exercise I worked in 3 different tabs of the properties: Server, System and Advanced to make the profiles work consistently. A learning from this: I would find 2 things very helpful.
1. if in the heading of the properties in Watch the profile name would be displayed. 2. if I could also display the profile name in my control point Suggestions a very wellcome. |

RE: Profile Name visible in Watch Properties ?
You can change the Minimserver name for each profile, a different one for each

RE: Profile Name visible in Watch Properties ?
There is no support for profiles in MinimWatch (as you have seen) and this is unlikely to be added. Instead, the property setting capability currently provided by MinimWatch will be added to the MinimServer configuration web interface. This will enable profile support to be better integrated with property setting within the configuration web interface.
The UPnP protocol doesn't provide any way for a UPnP server to send configuration information (such as the profile name) to a UPnP control point. |

Thank you for the responses. ad 1.: ok and understandable. ad 2.: what I already have is the following. I include the 2 gain tags as itemtags. I use displayFormat to either concatenate the Albumgain value to the Albumtitle and that gets displayed or I concatenate the Trackgain values to the track titles andd then that gets displayed in my control app. Depending on the either / or I set either convOut=-af volume=replaygain=track or convOut=-af volume=replaygain=album as the streaming options So when I have Albumgain active I can see the gain value in brackets behind the Album title but I see no trackgain values. The other wy around when I have trackgain active I don't see the Albumgain value but behind each tracktitle I can see the trackgain values. So this helps me to conclude which one is being currently in use. A bit cumbersome but so far the best I could find. To switch I have to get my PC and enter the profile dialogue of MinimServer on my NAS but that is probably the way it is and will stay because switching profiles from my control point (=iPad) is obviously not going to be possible ever as long as UPnP is being used. |

RE: Profile Name visible in Watch Properties ?
On your iPad, use a web browser to open the page x.x.x.x:9790 where x.x.x.x is the IP address of your NAS. This opens the MinimServer configuration web page for your NAS from which you can view and change your active profile.
Your PC and MinimWatch are needed only to change property settings in a profile. This should be relatively infrequent. All other actions related to profiles (including viewing property settings) can be done from your iPad as explained above. When the configuration web page supports changing property settings, all actions related to profiles will be possible from your iPad. |

Using a browser with the IP and port# is relatively comfortable if you use a bookmark, which is relatively comfortable if you reserve a fix IP address for the NAS. Since I have done all this it works fine and I am happy with it. Why did I happen to arrive at the Minimserver Config page directly without any logon/password? Is that normal? Your plans to integrate properties into the web interface creates desire and expectations. I am looking forward. |

RE: Profile Name visible in Watch Properties ?
There is no login and password for the MinimServer configuration web page, just as there is no login and password when using MinimWatch to configure MinimServer.

RE: Profile Name visible in Watch Properties ?
I know this question should belong to a general replaygain thread. I just want to piggyback on my recent discussion for a quick answer on this:
I have few audio test files with samples like "silence" or "pink noise". These samples happen to bear a trackgain value of let's say 922... billion dB (seriously, an endless string, very large positive number). What would happen (to my system) if I ever played one of those files with trackgain enabled? The number is + and the string convOut=-af volume=replaygain=track implies to me that the 922 billion would become subtracted but I am not sure... |

Please post this question to a new thread. I have closed this thread to further posts. It is not difficult to create a new thread and it helps other users take part in the discussion and find the information later.
