installed 0.8.5.3 just fine. what am i missing? java version is 1.7.0_80

I’m presuming xpenology is running on an intel machine.

These Instructions indicate that Java 8 is required.

yes. running on a lenovo ts140 and xpen

i dont think my current xpen config will support java 8... crap. guess I will stick with the non minim version 2.

What can't you install the Synology DSM Java8 package? The description of xpenology says that you can install DSM packages.

hi simon. i am running 5.2 of the loader which only does java 7. i tried a java 8 package but it will not install.

in order to upgrade my xpen to v6 i would have to redo it and possibly lose data. not a risk i wish to take, and your 0.8 version already runs so perfectly for me with bubbleupnp.

the only feature i wish minim did have was the "NEWLY ADDED MUSIC" option which i think had been requested quite some time ago.

"Rename the downloaded file from its original name (jdk-8u241-linux-i586.tar.gz) to jdk-7u51-linux-i586.tar.gz. This is required to enable Java Manager to load the file."

It is funny but I had grabbed this exact file yesterday and tried to load but it bombed out because of the name. I thought to RENAME IT manually but decided against it, prior to you sending this guide. Funny that renaming it was exactly what made it go. I am now on JAVA 8.

THANK YOU. PS, does it now support the RECENTLY ADDED feature so I can see the newly added music into my library? That has been my one and only 'feature requst' since using minim.

I have to say the minim and bubble and openhome renderer combo is simply amazing to use in this house. I have a Marantz AVR and a DENON in garage with a CCA and it all jsut works so brilliantly.
