RE: MinimWatch can't find MinimServer on Synology NAS
Yes, that's correct. I'll see what happens when I disable the other networks.

However, I think it's relevant to note that the Esoteric N-05 has Tidal on-board and that Tidal works perfectly well wirelessly through the SoundStream iOS app. Also, the N-05 has a USB port, and when I plug in a thumb drive with music files, the iOS app sees that as well. This seems to confirm that the Esoteric *is* communicating wirelessly with the app but for some reason can't see the NAS as available content, which would make it a network problem rather than a wireless router problem. It may be as simple as a bad cable (wouldn't that be great?), which is another fix I'll try tonight . . .

As always, thanks!

Multicast messaging uses a different protocol than other network communication. Your symptoms (multicast not working, other network communication working) are typical of this issue.

Have you checked the advanced settings on your Airport Extreme to see if there is an option to disable IGMP snooping?

RE: MinimWatch can't find MinimServer on Synology NAS
Okay, this is getting completely crazy-making.

Here's what's happening:

1. I have disabled both the 2.4 and 5.0 networks and everything is operating solely on the home network called "hsimon46."
2. The Airport Extreme shows that IGMP Snooping is disabled.
3. When the NAS, the Esoteric and a PC all are hard-wired to the network (the first two directly to the modem and the PC to the 8-port switch connected to the modem), I can control the Esoteric with Kinsky on the PC and everything works fine (though Kinsky crashes if I disconnect the PC from the hard-wire and try to go wireless.). BUT, in that configuration, the iPad (connected wirelessly to the network) sees *neither* the player nor the library in either SoundStream or Kinsky.
4. However, when I connect the Esoteric to an Airport Express running on the network as an extension of the Airport Extreme, the iPad sees the Esoteric (and can play Tidal), but can't see a library.

What now? Thanks.

Is the Airport Extreme configured as a bridge or as a router? I believe the setting that you need is named "Off (bridge mode)". See this thread.

RE: MinimWatch can't find MinimServer on Synology NAS
Hi -- success!! (Sorta . . .) The good news is that I changed the AirPort Extreme to bridge mode and, viola, I have a music library with >2,000 albums visible to the iOS apps! The bad news is that when I rescanned NAS using MinimWatch, I got hundreds of errors. I'll try to attach a photo with snapshot of the log (if I can figure out how to do that), but a sample few lines (verbatim) are:

Warning: truncating incorrect value for DATE tag 2004-27-10 in file HiRes/Jason Mraz - Love is a Four Letter Word (2012) [HDTracks 24-96]/Keane - Hopes and Fears/07 - Keane - She Has No Time-SACD Stereo.dsf

Error: chunk data extends beyond form size in WAV file HiRes/Jason Mraz - Love is a Four Letter Word (2012) [HDTracks 24-96/Keith Jarrett/Concerts (Bregenz, Munchen 1981) (HDTracks 96:24)/ Concerts (Bregenz, Munchen)/01-1

This is caused be wrong date tagging 2004-20-04 (Y-D-M) should be 2004-04-20 (Y-M-D)

RE: MinimWatch can't find MinimServer on Synology NAS
Hi. Thanks for going above and beyond to help me!

I've identified some of the log errors as having multiple artists in a single artist's folder (I was consolidating into larger master folders and got sloppy) and others for DVD-A albums that the Esoteric isn't equipped to play.

Here are some examples of the >1,000 other errors that remain:

Warning: truncating incorrect value for DATE tag 2006-14-02 in file HiRes/Flute/Bezaly - Gubaidulina - Sieben Worte/08 - 7. Vater, ich befehle meinen Geist.dsf

Error: chunk data extends beyond form size in WAV file HiRes/Marcin Wasilewski Trio - Faithful (HD Tracks 44.1:16)/Faithful/01-An den kleinen Radioapparat.wav (length 47925524)

Error: playlist HiRes/Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick/Jethro Tull - Thick as a Brick.m3u: no matching file for Title1 - 02. Thick as a Brick (Part 2).aiff

Error: playlist HiRes/Prokofiev & RImsky Korsakov (St. Louis Symphony)/Prokofiev & Rimsky-Korsakov (St. Louis Symphony) - Alexander Nevsky & Scheherazade.m3u: no matching file for Title1 - 01. Alexander Nevsky - Russia Under the Mongolian Yoke.aiff

Warning: truncating incorrect value for DATE tag 2006 in file Redbook/Danielsson-Dell-Landgren/Salzau Music on the Water/01 Lars Danielsson - Part I.flac

Guidance appreciated! Thanks.
