LUMIN app: AlbumArtist
Hello
I am using the LUMIN app with MinimServer.
I have set the all.display.multiTag in MinimServer so that LUMIN app does not use ',' to separate within the tags.
However, strangely, in the album listing of the MinimServer container within LUMIN app, the Album Artist appears inverted. For example: if the AlbumArtist tag is "Abbado, Claudio: Berliner Philarmoniker", then it appears as "Claudio: Berliner Philarmoniker, Abbado" in the Album listing.
Whereas the AlbumArtist appears correctly in all other listings within the app.
Any idea why?
Is it a problem with my MinimServer parameters? Or a bug of the LUMIN App?
Thanks

My first instinct tells me that the tag you see is AlbumArtistSort rather than AlbumArtist? I use Lumin and don't have this issue so it is not the app. My bets are:
- Parameters in MinimServer are directing the wrong TAG field somewhere
- The tag itself is incorrectly populated. You can check this with a tool like MP3Tag or Illustrate PerfectTunes.

RE: LUMIN app: AlbumArtist
The multiTag setting wouldn't make any difference for AlbumArtist because there is always a single AlbumArtist value in MinimServer. It sounds like this is an issue with the LUMIN app incorrectly parsing the value you have used for this tag.

When you say "the AlbumArtist appears correctly in all other listings", do you mean it is correct for other AlbumArtist values or do you mean this AlbumArtist value appears "correctly" in other places? If it is the latter, what do you mean by "correctly"?

RE: LUMIN app: AlbumArtist
Thanks Pepsican: I will check this evening and report back

Simon:
I mean that the issue concerns all albums, and that the AlbumArtist appears "correctly" in other places (e.g. Lumin directory for Albums, Minimserver container for Album Artists etc.).
By "correctly" I mean: as initially entered in Foobar2000, i.e. in my example "Abbado, Claudio: Berliner Philarmoniker".
Note also that, again with my example, the album is correctly sorted at letter A (Abbado, Claudio: Berliner Philarmoniker), but the artist name below the album name appears "inverted" in the listing (Claudio: Berliner Philarmoniker, Abbado).
Thank-you for your time.

RE: LUMIN app: AlbumArtist
I have reproduced this problem and I have checked the output sent by MinimServer to the LUMIN app. The album artist name sent by MinimServer is correct but it is being reversed by the LUMIN app. You can confirm this by using a different control point such as Linn Kinsky to view the albums list.

RE: LUMIN app: AlbumArtist
Thank-you Simon.

I confirm that the issue is specific to the LUMIN app and that Album Artists are displayed correctly in other control points (Kinsky, Kazoo etc.).
The only workaround I can imagine is to replace the regular space in ", " by a special character...

Another "bug" seems to be that, altough the LUMIN app handles multiple values of tags (e.g. Artist), they are displayed in a random (or at least non obvious) order; not in the order in which they have been entered in Foobar2000 or MP3 tag.
Which will probably force me to use Soloist, Conductor and Orchestra tags and Artist.displayFormat={$Soloist$Conductor$Orchestra} in MinimServer. Which is fine, but implies massive retagging.

RE: LUMIN app: AlbumArtist
I have responded to the same query you made on the Linn forum.

I fear that is correct, because thats also the way I work around this "random" issue. It does not help much though if you have multiple soloists. They will still appear in random order....

RE: LUMIN app: AlbumArtist
Is it worth reporting this to LUMIN? It is definitely a bug rather than a feature, as the order of multiple values for the same tag (but not the order of different tags) is significant.

How do we report this to Lumin? I'm not aware of a forum they run or some monitored helpdesk account.
